I agree with all. I cringe when I hear it, too. But I also remember when we took over the word Black and started referring to ourselves that way. At first we all cringed because in the past it was so derogatory. But then WE redefined its meaning with Black Power.

However, Il don't think I would ever get used to "N" being an acceptable term.

Neither will I. My father (RIP) would use it with his buddies and even referred to me with it as a child. I gently told him that it wasn't cool.
