I just learned that violas only have 3 fine tuners whereas violins have 4. And I learned that a fine tuner will only set me back 4 bucks on this violin that a really nice graduate student gave me for free. It had previously been used as a viola (with viola strings) for a smaller student since they use smaller instruments.
