Thank you Ginger! I forgot about this very important feature. I NEVER watch American Idol live anymore--expecially the results show. There is about 10 minutes of worthwhile information on this show. I just speed through the rest of it!

Have it but still trying to figure out how to work everything. I can rewind and fast forward.:D My hubby just laughs @ me. I'll get the hang of it soon.

I have TIVO and I LUV TIVO:D We have Directv/Dual something TIVO where it can record up two shows at the same time and I put the baby into to overdrive on somedays......I like the pause feature and rewind....and the fastward through commercials feature....did I say I am IN LOVE with TIVO.

Yeah, the directv TIVO is the only TIVO that comes with dual recorders:D ( I'm no expert but since Reading is Fundamental I took a visit over to www.tivo.com.:o )

We're getting the EOD (something like TiVo) added through our cable company for 3.95/ month.

TiVo has changed the way people watch television and added a new word to the vernacular.

To address the challenges, TiVo is poised to make major changes in its strategic, marketing and advertising plans. They include introducing a redesigned TiVo box and lowering its price by $50, to $99, by doubling a rebate offer; selling TiVo at more retail chains and Web sites like Costco, Sam's Club and Target.com; starting a loyalty program, to give incentives to current TiVo customers to recruit newcomers; and even teaming with a bank to offer a TiVo Platinum MasterCard.

These efforts will be promoted in a quirky ad campaign, with a budget estimated at $15 million, that is scheduled to start this week. In the ads, the previous TiVo slogan, "TiVo is TV your way," is replaced by an affirmation: "You have a life. TiVo gets it."

Like Gillette slashing prices on razors to make its profits in blades, TiVo will make up the difference in monthly subscription fees. Customers pay $12.99 a month -- or $299 for a "lifetime" subscription -- for services like a two-week program guide they can download through a phone line or broadband connection.
By contrast, most cable and satellite providers charge less than $10, although there are sometimes additional charges for upgrades to digital cable, for example. EchoStar rents machines to subscribers for $5 a month and charges $4.98 a month (a penny less than DirecTV) for access to the program-guide software. That means many viewers can get 60 TV channels and a DVR for as little as $35 a month. And by using cable wall jacks, subscribers can watch shows recorded on their DVRs on TV sets in other rooms of their homes at no extra cost

I don't know anything about the loyality program, but if anybody wants to help a sista out I will "recruit" you! :D

This year I won't miss another episode of the Apprentice, ANTM, Survivor, BB5, CSI, Airplane, or Family Plots because I have a DVR. I've had it since the summer and I LOVE IT too!! I was thinking about getting TiVo but the DVR seemed like a better deal at the time.

I don't Tivo, but I have On Demand through my cable company which is basically like Tivo except you don't have to record anything. The program that you missed is ready for viewing the day after it originally airs, and you can pause, and fastforward, stop and rewind just like Tivo.

I'm setting it up as we speak. Until I get frustrated and call my friends at the local Circuit City (for whatever reason I always call them for tech issues even though I never BUY anything there :))

Does anyone know if DISH is compatiable with TiVo?
