I read an article about it in today's paper- an MTV producer said that MTV did not pay for any of the surgeries. The first time it came on, I was like I am not watching this so I didn't. But then it came on again a few days later and my sister told me to watch it so I did. I felt really bad for them- esp. when they were like yeah we're ugly. And I felt reallllly bad for the guy they showed who's nose ended up crooked. I have not seen the JLO one yet.

that show is stupid.....folks really need something to justify their existence.

I saw the first episode. A dermotologist would have helped A LOT and they still don't look good. But think about how creeped out celebrities are, knowing that people are going to the extent of spending thousands of dollars and pain to look like them. I saw previews on the episode of where this chick wants to look like Britney Spears and she wants to be a singer.... she sucks a$$!!!! And what's the point of trying to look like Britney and be a singer, you wouldn't make it anywhere. People are tired of one Britney, let alone a look alike that's worse of a singer. I'll still watch the show though. lol.

I've always thought that most surgeons won't do surgeries like that. Many times, people who want such a drastic facial reconstruction like that usually suffer from low esteem and won't be happy with anything...even if they really do like Brad Pitt and Britney Spears in the end. Plus, completely reconstructing the face like that can cause a lot of complications.

Most of them won't. They've got to find some pretty shady surgeons to actually go through with this stuff -- most of the reputable ones would just send these freaks to a psychologist. Major issues here.

I didn't see the show just because the premise creeped me out way too much, but I'm sure I'll end up catching reruns on MTV and getting sucked in.

Perhaps they should rename her show "I want a famous rack."

If she can imitate Britney as a paid performer.....then Damn, I know I can. How sad!!

I like BrownEyedGirl's "I want a famous rack." show idea. Hmm...."I wanna be Jessica Simpson!"

OMG - is anyone else watching this right now? With the girl who wants to look like Kate Winslet?

She is SUCH a pretty girl - grogeous face! The surgery part was gross!! ewww

ZTAngel 03-30-2004 09:28 AM

The surgery part was really nasty! They took chunks out of fat and skin. The camera zoomed in on a huge piece of flesh and I thought I was going to vomit. So unnecessary. This show convinced me not to have plastic surgery!

Yeah...I caught that episode last night. Talk about embarrassing "circle of the fat" by the doctor. She was in so much pain with all those scars and stiches.

I saw it last night and agree that she is a pretty woman. I think the surgery was necessary to get rid of all that extra skin *barf*

This show is just playing up to people's low self esteem. It's one thing to say that I'm not happy with my appearance (for health, etc reasons) and I want to do something about it. It's a WHOLE 'nother thing to say I want to look like [insert famous person here].

Neosoulchild 04-12-2004 11:24 PM
