I have written rec letters for women that went to a campus that didn't have my group there. I send it to the Panhellenic office to do with as they will. I have also assisted in recruitmnt when I have seen recs from women whose group wasn't on the campus where I was. The Panhellenic office still disburses a copy to all the groups on campus. We always looked at them and considered them.

I think a rec can still tell you whether the woman is highly thought of, has the atributes you're looking for,whether they are serious about committing to a sorority and if they're knowledgeable abot the costs and time requirements----even if they aren't from my group.
