Ladies of AKA, I always like to check out the famous members of our illustrious sororities so I checked out the pages referred by you moderator AKA2D '91.
Wow, I didn't know that Alice Walker was your soror! She is truly an American icon. Was she initiated recently or have I missed something? Also, is this the same Charlotte Hawkins Brown who was a contemporary of Mary Church Terrell? I just finished re-reading 'When and Where I Enter' and she is shown to be a very strong and influential voice in the suffrage movement. *Not trying to get in your business, just trying to be informed!* ------------------ MCCOYRED Mu Psi '86 BaltCo Alumnae Dynamic...Salient...Temperate...Since 1913 |
as for Vivica Fox, i don't think anyone of us can really comment on that. b/c unless one of us is on that Intl. committee, we don't really know. plus, why blow the surprise now? i know i can wait until July, 2002.
i wondered why every AKA wasn't in the big '98 directory. granted, i did find relatives who haven't been active in a "coon's age" in there but no Soror Sonia Sanchez. interesting. Mccoyred, does DST have that kind of directory as well? i'm just curious. |
How did they leave out Sonia Sanchez on the list of famous Sorors? I know they could list them all, but please don't leave Sonia out. Also I heard that Vivica was going to be made Honorary also...her acheievements are? Yes, she can act...but I hope we are looking for a liitle more than that.

I hope I am not intruding because I am a sisterfrind but your post intrigued me so I went in search of more info. On an older thread,Topic: I didn't know....... , a greekchat member states that Roxie Roker actually joined at the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
