I watched a special on the hist. channel about it (like 2 hours long), and it said that many of the defenders of the Alamo were actually Mexican, and they were trying to escape Santa Anna's dictatorship... He was apparently a very brutal dictator... Anyways, it was good, and got me excited for the film...
