I got the spam message on my Sprint phone as well (I think mine had a different e-mail address listed, but I can't remember it).
It's really ironic because the only time I usually get a text message is when my phone service has been turned off....my friends can't text message me so I find it so odd that spammers can... |
I ported my number from Sprint to Cingular. Strangely, I didn't get a spam message. A friend of mine on Sprint did though.
My guess is that they're using the sprint website. You can send a sprint phone a text message by using a regular email client and sending the message to yournumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com. My guess is that they're just emailing every possible number Sprint could have. The great thing for them is that they really didn't even have to do anything differently within their spam programs. |

I didn't start getting text messages on my phone until after I signed up to do mobile AIM on my phone...i'm thinking that might of been where they got my number?

I will kill someone if I start getting these. Look out.

Spam software has no problem with stuff like that. |
I got another one of these messages yesterday. If Sprint thinks that they're going to slap me with an extra charge for this, they've got another thing coming!
|
I still have yet to hear from Sprint concerning this!
I better not see a PENNY extra on my bill. |
This is why I have t-moble!

Yep, I hope that AT&T doesnt end up with that too....I already have too many of my own text messages, I don't need spam ones also! I hated sprint when I had that service, and they NEVER do anything about complaints. |

I use a sports score reporting service from MSN to report scores of Oklahoma University football games. Their program screwed up and started sending me message after message. I called customer service and found out they had around 500 messages waiting for me. They are actually able to go in and clear out the queue but that does require a call to customer service. I have yet to receive spam on my Cingular. I'm sure it's only a matter of time. |
