That's probably because, more than any other place, the City of New York is about being alive. To oppose New York, is to oppose life.

You're making all these cracks about Canada and none of the Canadians are coming out saying "hey that's not nice" (in of course our oh so polite manner). And do you know why we aren't saying anything? Because we've heard them all before. In fact we've made these cracks about ourselves way before you did.
Come on guys you can do better than that!:)

But thanks for coming out anyway, eh! :D

ETA: I don't want to ever go to New Jersey :D

It's not an assumption, he's movies/books are all set in New England. In fact I believe they all take place in the same town.

Yes, Stephen King's movies/books are all set in his homestate of Maine.

I try to avoid New Jersey whenever possible because that's where my in laws live.

I know I should know better, especially given the number of black people who live there everyday, but I have never been to and am petrified of the state Mississippi. I can't help it, and its for so many movies that I have seen that I can't remember them all, i.e. Mississippi Buring, A Time to Kill, etc.

AND I was born in Georgia!! so its not like I've never been to the South.

I am also afraid of Texas, not because of any particular movie, but because of things I have always heard that have happend/go on there such as the huge number of executions, James Byrd being dragged, WACO incident, GWB (;) ), I could go on and on.
But, I am going there for law school so I guess I'd better get over that!! Reading you all's "Why I love Texas" thread was a bit therapeutic for me, thanks.

Wrong turn was set in southern West Virginia, Greenbrair County. Which is kind of funny b/c Greenbrair is one of the most luxurious resorts on the East coast that caters to the President and many foreign diplomats. Plus there is a of ski resorts around that area. Stupid movie.

The only place I really have no desire to go to is CA. None whatsoever. To many wacko's out there.

Wherever the hell Deliverance was in. I never want to go there. EVER!

Once again, back country of WV.

The movie and it's actors were filmed in Alabama though.

I thought it was Northern Georgia...

None. I've been to almost all of the states.

I hear you, not that I know anyone who lives in Mississippi either. Those two movies just give me the creeps.

Except Iowa. I don't know who in their right mind would want to live there. I mean, come on. Field of Dreams? Dude, that little girl almost dies choking on a hot dog. It's a death trap state, I tell ya! ;) :p

_Opi_ 03-03-2004 04:50 PM

'k people, Canada is not a state and I believe the title of this post is "states you wouldn't visit".....

I would have to vote for Jasper, Texas.
