Because butterflies are really fluid and aren't about brute force. Also the level of speed involved increases adding to "fluidity" and the ability to hit and run.

I have a full mechanics set of tools in my jeep along with a extending night stick and mase/pepper spray. I have used the pepper spray on a handful of occasions and my boyfriend has taken the night stick out a few times too. ;)

 @ ztabchbum! It's no wonder the battle cry thread said for you: "Yea, verily: Who is that, running over the candy store! It is Jennifer, hands clutching two hardened pitas! She cries mightily: "I'm going to smash you until you turn inside-out, and grin like a f***ing maniac!!" ;)

Not exactly sure what I'd do with it, but it makes me feel safer.
Great now I have the 'Highlander' theme song running through my head! :p.

I don't take my safety for granted.
The tools are in my Jeep because - well, anything could happen and it's nice to have them handy. T
he night stick my boyfriend keeps close to him when he's in the car and often takes it out of my Jeep and puts it in his car.
And the pepper spray - I'm a firm believer in that every female should carry it!

The peace that comes with the knowledge that I have taken & passed the NRA personal protection course (most of which in NOT gun-related, btw!). I am also licensed to carry a concealed weapon.

If someone decides to hurt me, they will remember that day for the rest of their very short life!

When I used to live in a semi-scary apartment, I would carry a hammer with me. I knew I would cut myself with a knife, shoot myself in the foot with a gun, but with a hammer maybe I could bop someone and run like hell!!:p

Whenever I go out, I always carry my bookbag with my psych text in it. I can swing that thing pretty hard!

LOL. You know what? That's why I started this thread. Me and my dad were making fun of one of my cousins who is a belly dancer. You know how belly dancers do those dances where they balance a 3 or 4 ft sword on their head...well she owns one those swords. She keeps it under her bed for protection also. If someone intrudes her house they will be in for a pleasant surprise. :D

Can you PM me some more info on that NRA course. My boyfriend is looking to get a gun (he's grown up with them and is a pretty good shot). We're looking at a 9mm and of course we'll both be licensed to carry a concealed weapon, but how do you get involved in the NRA and that course? Thanks for the info. :)

Go to the NRA website and all the info is on there. Also gunshops in the yellowpages will advertise it.

The most important thing I remember from Martial Arts when I was a lad is, whenever possible, run like hell.

Well, maybe not run, but do your best to keep from a physical altercation.
