Yes HK Baby alive used to eat "baby food" and drink from a bottle. Her and "baby that a way" were my favorites. Baby that a way used to crawl for all you youngsters :) |
I did have both black and white dolls. The majority however was white. I don't think the dolls had any effect on me due to the fact that in my case race wasn't even in my vocabulary. I was more concerned with doing their hair, making them clothes and playing with them.
I do have a daughter who will be 1 in April and she is mixed and I plan to buy her dolls of all races due to her background. If there were a mixed baby doll on the market I would purchase that one too. |
My mom mostly bought my sister and I black dolls. Once, my mom bought my sister a Snow White doll, and my dad threw it away!! He wasn't too pleased with the idea.

I never liked barbie dolls. The one I had, I accidentally set on fire trying to press her hair  So, that was the last one my mom bought me.
However, I did have quit a few Cabbage Patch dolls and they were always black. I just didn't find the white ones inticing. There was no connection. So, if I did have the opportunity to play with one, I wouldn't. As I got older, a line of dolls was introduced named Kenya. I had one of those, but once again, couldn't do much with them. She came with beads to do her hair, but it was too thin to hold a braid, much less a bead. :( My children will have black dolls, unless they request white ones. |
