CALLING ALL TACOMA/NORTHWEST PANHELLENIC MEMBERS - BUMP :)

September, 2006

Hello Panhellenic Sisters!

A couple of emails have been recently traded with the decision made to "poll" known membership to determine if there is interest from our
Panhellenic members to gear up again. And, of course for those new to the area please don't be shy as well--ALL are welcome!!

As our Collegiate counterparts are heading back to classes and
participating in Recruitment on campuses throughout the nation, there
is no doubt we are busy too with families, careers and other outside
activities.

If you are out there in "cyber-land", please sound off! Our APH can
be designed any way we want it to be as "user friendly" as possible!

What would you like to see from SPSAPH? A group that is social in
nature? A group that has a healthy balance between socialization and
service? One way to possibly get involved is to lend a hand to the
UPS Greek System (our closest campus) when the sorority chapters
participate in their formal recruitment activities, which aren't
until early next year.

On a personal note, I hope this finds you all doing well! Please let
us know how you are doing!

Please PM me if you would like more information or to provide any feedback! Thanks!!

In Panhellenic Sisterhood,

Rachel Turner-Bensen
Alpha Gamma Delta

A mix of social and service. Helping UPS would be good but a lot of people who are willing to get involved may well already be assisting their relevant GLO's. Something with events that are at easy to attend times (IE not on weeknight evenings).

LOL........

You made me jump when I saw this thread. I thought you had started one (forgot I had obviously) and I was going to tell you how timely you were since we were talking about it today on our SPSAPH list......lol

There are actually very few alumnae chapters in the Tacoma area. I know Alpha Phi was trying to get one started when we were starting up the APh a few years and I don't know where they are in the process. Since most groups have never had a chapter at UPS, there aren't a high concentration of those alumnae in that area.

I'll tell you more later......

Hello, yes, I had to dig a bit, but I opted to bump rather than start from scratch again in case there was pertinent information in the thread. After I bumped it I thought...DUH I could have just posted the link to the thread. So, I am sorry for those APH sisters who are having to dig from oldest to newest ;) I DO claim that faux pas...

So as the feelers are going out I am also going to post contact information in the "community/getting involved" sections of the TNT and Daily Olympian. I know there are some alum groups down this way. I have also messaged my Junior League friends I know still have connections to their GLOs. Any other suggestions?

SmartBlondeGPhB 09-12-2006 12:09 AM

I think there is actually something posted in one of the online papers in terms of contact info but I'm forgetting what I did.......

Those sound good though to me.....:D

I know some of the GLO's only had a handful of alumnae in that area when I got the list before.

You may hear from Marilyn Fordham too so she would be a good resource. she's the local NPC person.

Yup, try the Ft Lewis Ranger and whatever the AF version is. THere may well be alums on Ft Lewis and McChord that are transplanted from all over and want to get involved in civilian endevors.

Out of curiosity, SmartBlondeGPhB, do you know if there's a Panhellenic Association up on the East Side?
