EXACTLY. That's the point.

I completely agree with you blu_theatrics!! To me, "ethnic group" sounds like the Slavic Dancing Club or something.

I am the least PC person in the universe, but I thought that wording was awkward too.

The names "Inter FRATERNITY Council" and "Panhellenic (which of course means all Greek) Council" could be looked on as repetitive, also. That's why they should all be called what they're supposed to be called.

I am not in a club. I am not in a group. I am in a SORORITY.

I agree with blue The word group implies, club to me, which means anyone can sign up, any one can become a member without governing criteria. It also means that you can join one semester and dejoin the next. We know that is impossible in the NPHC because you are a member for life.
