I was not responding to the TATTOO ISSUE! My comment to that is: NO COMMENT!
|
My friend who's a member has an ivy vine around her upper arm, and I think it's so cute and ultra feminine. But, I'd want something I could cover up if needed. I currently have a tattoo on my chest (u guessed it--a chocolate shake w/ whipped cream and a cherry on top w/ thicknchocolate circling it.) It's small enough to conceal even in a low cut evening gown.

I was thinking about getting a green frog with AKA in pink in the center, but after reading the post on mascots and doing some research I decided not to. I wanted something to represent the Sorority, a mascot that is nation wide. So, I lending towards the Ivy leaf and the twenty pearls.

I know I have resurected this thread but I have to bring this up...
I was at a function Friday and I saw a soror with a tattoo on her arm (that was the only reason I knew she was one). Her tattoo had the greek letters (which is a big no-no in DST), her line number very big and the elephant beteen the letters (if you remember what Left Eye's tattoo looked like, something simular to that). The thing that bottered me about the tattoo was the letters, because it's against national rules. Does anyone else feel this way, especially if they have the letters on it? |
I'm not greek but I have always been told you shouldn't get tattoos that spell out your letters. I know people who have brands of their letters but somehow they say that's different. Now I don't see anything wrong with getting tattoos of things like ivy's, elephants, the sphinx and so on because that could stand for anything. I think it's only seen as a major no-no when you combine your letters with it.

Unfortunately, nothnig can be done. The tattoo is there now. What impact is a comment going to have? Obviously this young lady has made her decision, either without regard for, or knowledge of the rules.

I can't take it....
This is an interesting thread.....

I am currently comtemplating a bracelet consisting of (you guessed it) 20 pearls. That way, it's easily concealed ( with a watch or bracelet) when necessary. I don't think I would get anything large or obvious. I have others and they can be concealed in a moments notice.
