The latest....

The greatest.....

The Treo 600

Combination PDA w/ standard QWERTY keyboard, cel phone (Sprint), and wireless web. REAL web, not just itty bitty little clippings. Along w/ the rest of the PDA stuff (camera, databases, and slot for MP3 cards, etc)

Yes, I am a geek and proud. Even have the "Starfleet Academy" college sticker on the back of my car to prove it.

:D

My bf gave me his old Palm when he upgraded to a new Palm. I have never used it though. I probably should try it out.

I have an IPAQ. It's useful sometimes. I had to get it for work because a group of people I support bought them so I had to learn it to teach THEM how to use them.

I prefer a standard pocket calendar. You know, the kind with the plastic cover that looks about the size of a checkbook? I like to keep it simple.

I could see my self using a PDA if I was still in the political world. But, in education, my life is more about planning lessons than planning my appointments and client meetings.

I too have a lower end Palm that I only use to store names and addresses. My employer uses Lotus Notes  for email so importing/exporting email messages (which I really need) is out of the question.

When they upgrade (if ever) to MS Outlook, I will probably upgrade.

I've heard there's a program that will let you hotsync between Notes and your Palm. It might only be for the calendar, though.

*bump*

I'd like to download AOL instant messenger onto my PDA. I went to the AIM site, and it looks like I have to pay $19.95. Is there not a free version?

mmcat 01-20-2005 08:30 AM

i guess i am underusing mine...
it's a good place to stick addresses, phones and e-mails, passwords and the like.
otherwise, sigh!

I had an iPAQ HP4355 with bluetooth and wifi and all that cos I'd intended on getting the bluetooth keyboard to take classnotes but I exchanged it for an iPOD when I realized the impracticality of trying to do that. I'm glad I did. I want another cheaper palm just for the basic functions...I had a palm V that I have a nice Dooney & Bourke caseholder for but I burnt the damn thing out in England when the computer adapter slightly malfunctioned.

I have a Sony Clie SJ30 that I used until recently when I got a Sidekick. I do not use the Sidekick as a phone, just for calendar, address book, email, instant messenger and mobile web. I love it. It is terrific. There are things I would change though, the primary one being that it doesn't sync.

I would get the Treo or a berry but I need a phone with an analog band where I live, so keeping an additional phone seems like the only option right now.

I have a T-Mobile Sidekick II, it replaced my Blackberry. (I got it for my birthday.)

Phone, Text Messaging, AOL Instant Messenger, Email delivery, Satelite Web access, Event Calendar, To-Do List, Address Book, Camera (though, it will never replace my Cannon Elph), Note Pad, Calculator, and Games.

You can download more games and programs, but I haven't seen any that I can't live without yet.

But you have to hand it to them, the name Sidekick really fits, I don't go anywhere without it.
