No, I did not end up joining. During this informal rush, I was able to visit two houses. I went to two houses on the first day. The second day I only went to one house. The third day was pref night by invitation only.

At the end of the second night, I really clicked with one of the girls. As I was leaving the house she was really enthusiastic about having me back. I had met her on the first night. We were discussing an activity that she had done for the house last semester and she said she really wanted to finish the conversation tomorrow. The night was coming to an end and she didn't have time to finish the story.

Later that night, I received an email from the rush chair thanking everyone for participating. I am really confused because when I left the house, I was under the impression that I would be invited back to pref night.

Did it seem like I was receiving the wrong signals or what could have prevented me from receiving an invite back?

There could be many reasons why you didn't receive an invitation to Pref. The best way to find out is to keep your options open, keep your eyes open (is the woman sitting next to you in class a member of a GLO?), keep your grades up, and see who all you meet this term - then try again in the fall.
