A couple that I know of are: www.audiofind.com www.audiogalaxy.com www.hiphoprydaz.com

With the last site the files are saved as rm which can be played in realplayer and winamp-if you have the plugin. The files aren't as big as mp3's; therefore, the download time is shorter.

FYI there is a site www.hiphoparchives.com which is a site where you can find lyrics to songs. I just hate it when I like a song, but don't know the words to it and I'm singing the wrong thing. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Has anybody tried to download from Napster lately? Hubby and I tried last night and it is basically on LOCK DOWN. You are blocked from downloaded a lot of songs now. You can't even swipe a song from a person on your buddy list. The party's over. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

Well I'm not going to lie. Napster was the bomb, but now it's gone. However I've found plenty of other sites where I can get my music. I also have a cd burner. Yes I burn cd's. Do I sell them, no- eventhough I really should. To me it's no different than if I had taped a song off the radio or dubbed a copy of the tape from someone. The fact of the matter is that the internet is a larger medium for people to have access to the music and share it. If it wasn't so widespread, it wouldn't be a big deal.

Do I feel bad, no. Why? Because the prices used to be reasonable. Cd's were like 10.99 and tapes were around 8.99. Nowadays, cd's are up to 17.99-for one cd, not 2 and then you get 10 songs and only 2 are worth listening to. Then they have the nerve to sell tapes starting at 11.99.

It's a rip off and as far as I'm concerned the record companies- because they are the ones and not the artists who are banking the money- need to know how that feels.

Disclaimer: Just because I burn cd's doesn't mean that I have stopped purchasing cd's. I'll pay a reasonable price for a cd if I'm feeling the WHOLE ablum.

Has anyone signed up for Napster's free 30 day trial?

Nah; didn't even know it was still around in its old form.

I use WinMX. I am a bad girl, I know.

I have to wait until I have some more memory on my computer. I saw an ad for it on Yahoo, I think, but I haven't tried it. I will, though, as soon as I get some space.

*AHEM* Me too! That came out at work and I thought my colleague who's a lawyer would report me. LOL!!

LOL, please that person probably uses it too. :p. I mean WinMX has been out for a good minute, so if no one has shut it down by now, then oh well.

I get my download on daily. It comes in handy even more now that I have my ipod (and not a free one either ;) , LOL). So rather than cough up .99 for a download from iTunes, I take my happy butt right to WinMX.

It is refreshing to see that I am not the only person using WinMX(at work). :o
