I don't have this, but a friend of the family had a baby with an extra finger growing out of his thumb. It looked kind of unusual, but not really that big of a deal. His mother had it removed a few months later. The doctors waited because they wanted to make sure that they removed the correct finger. That freaked me out. It was a full sized finger, not a bump.

Me and my left bump

CT4, where you born with a bump or with a finger that was removed and became a bump?
The little boy I know had an actual finger that wiggled with bones a nail that grew. The finger grew out of his thumb. |

I was born with two extra fingers on each pinky. it was taken off before i left the hospital, so i have bumps that remain. My grandmother, all of my aunts (except one), and my uncle has one. I am the only grandchild to have one, and I know it is a dominant trait. I dated a guy who was born with one, and I got scared b/c i thought we maybe related way back in the day. I think it helped end the relationship. :(

When I think of having six fingers, I always think of the bad guy from the Princess Bride. I never realized this was such a common trait, or that the type of fingers could be so varied. You learn something new everyday on GC :)

Afriend of mine in primary school had the bump on the side of each pinky. She told me what it was and I thought it was kinda cool. I don't think it really bothered anyone - she was one of the more popular girls in school:)
