Thanks for the advice jali0004 and Poplife. I have been to nappyhair.com and found a lot of good stuff on there. I am not scared to cut my hair at all! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I'm so ready to do it. I was just scared about what to do afterwards as far as upkeep, care and all that good stuff. It's definitely going to be a change from having a perm, so I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing to it. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
Thanks again! |
I'm resurrecting this ancient thread.
What hair product can you not live without? For me, it's Paul Mitchell's Foaming Pomade. It's works great with natural hair. When my hair was straight, it was Sebastian's Laminates Drops. BTW, I'm a salon product junkie! |

I can't live with out 2 products...my Sulfur 8 and D&L's Dry Hair Healer with Shea Butter!! I absolutely adore both products!! |
Speaking of Vitamin E, I have heard of using baby oil (with Vitamin E) on children's hair. Has anyone here ever used it (or heard of it being used) on adult hair?

I LOVE ouidad's products. If i had to pick one it would be the balancing rinse. it's a conditioner that i use as a leave it. A lot fo peopel rave about the deep conditioner, which i like too, but if i had to pick one, it's the orange miracle goo. Several people have told me they associate the smell with me, b/c it's my mainstay - May change my perfumes and lotions, but the balacing rinse is a must.

i trust my life w/ motions hair products.
http://www.motionshair.com/M_images/TotalProducts.jpg I have been using the shampoo, conditioner, spray and home daily conditioner for about a month and my hair has grown. No other products. A friend recommended the hair product line ( her hair is down her back) and now im recommending it to you ladies. |

I've heard that one's hair can get used to a product so it is good to vary it- the motions hair pomade works wonders when your between perms:rolleyes: and olive oil is great I tried a trial size of Hollywood Beauty Olive cream and felt the difference on my hair and my nails:D

I think I have tried everything under the sun, especially when I was transitioning, so here are my MUST HAVES! :p Please keep in mind that I do not have a relaxer - I say that because in my experience some products work great on relaxed hair but not unrelaxed hair (lilke my beloved Neutrogena Triple Moisture Serum :( )....
Garnier Fructris - I LOVE their 3 Minute Deep Conditioner. I love thier line of conditioners and shampoos too Dove - Intense Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner. If you hair is dry, BUY THIS PRODUCT. I am so impressed with this...and all for $4 for the big bottle. Aussie 3 Minute Deep Conditioner with Tea Tree - I believe this is comparable to Biolage Conditioner which I "use" to use. And its $3 a bottle. Sally's Generic Brand: Joico K-Pak: Yep, it works JUST as good as the original...$4 a bottle I make my own hair/scalp oils. Right now, my mixture is as follows: 2 part almond oil 1 part avacado oil 1 part coconut oil few drops of ylang ylang To be honest, I've seen the most growth with this regime (my hair is mid back length), but take it for what its worth. |

My favorite products are:
Affirm Relaxer Affirm Moistur Color (moisture without the "e")---it's a moisturizing shampoo for color treated hair (my hair is streaked) Affirm Postive Link Conditioner Mizani Shyne Bodifying Sheen Spray Kera Care Oil--it has natural oils to keep your hair shiny and moisturized I also use Affirm Moistur Color lightener for my streaks. These are the best products I've ever used because it makes my hair so soft and full of body. |
