I read an interview with her parents where it sounded like Elizabeth was kind of in denial about what had gone on -- which wouldn't be surprising considering the circumstances -- or else that her parents were. Her parents kept repeating, "Oh, she's totally into teenage girl things: shopping, talking on the phone, boys," basically trying to convince the public that the girl was completely back to normal only a few months after she was rescued, which sounds pretty implausible and also somewhat worrisome to me.
