If you're referring to that Shaq thread, I didn't say *I* make fun of Japanese tourists. I said "we", referring to the locals. From what I see, the locals here don't make fun of them because they're Japanese. It's because they're tourists. Those from the US mainland also get the same treatment -- it's because their way of life is different from ours. If the locals' treatment of the tourists were a big problem though, then I doubt we'd get planeloads of them every day.

Growing up here we're taught to understand and appreciate the good and bad things about each ethnic group, and usually we can laugh about it because we know what's true and what's not because we live here.

Loveline has a national audience where tons of faithful people tune in every Sunday through Thursday. People listen to these guys and take their advice most of the time. You might not put much weight in what they say...but others do.

I'm just glad that Hawaii no longer has to listen to their crap.

I want people to think I have humongous calves - like my calves would look great to beat baby seals with. All guys should have big calves.

Sorta on and off subject but in the USA Today magazine that I get on the weekends had something pretty interesting in it. In the section for Dr. Drew's Relationship articles he announced that he would no longer be writing for this section...sounded pretty bitter also..hmm...

adam and drew are idiots. and yes i saw 'drew' and not 'dr. drew'. if he can't respect people, why should respect him by calling him 'dr.' anyway, it was not funny. it was just plain ignorant.

You not only have no sense of humor, but are a moron. Dr. Drew IS doctor hence his title. The show is funny, entertaining, and informative as can be seen by their longevity. If you don't like it then don't listen to it but don't bitch about it because of your lack of a sense of humor. Political correctness is a disease.

what i find funny is that people want to complain about political correctness when they're not the ones being offended. i highly doubt anyone on this site would have the heart or gall to say something offensive to someone's face and then say "it's just a joke."

My sister was flipping through the radio stations in the car tonight and I caught about ten seconds of Loveline, and they were talking about this. All I heard was Adam saying something like, "I was just treating Hawaiians like I would treat . . . West Virginians, and it got turned into this big racism thing."

Okay, is there anybody in this country besides Adam who doesn't that if you have a state (or a country?) that's associated with a particular race or culture and you make fun of the state/country, people are going to assume by default that you're making fun of the race?

Nobody in their right mind would say "All those Ethopians are so stupid, they deserve to starve to death! hahaha! I'm not being racist! I'm just treating them like I would treat . . . France!"
