Right..right. I say screw Mr. Cosby. She shows them the utmost respect when she is referring to them (he and Phylicia Rashaad) but she is grown. And unless they are pulling strings to get her to take over as the new "black Ms. IT" then what can they say? What can anyone say? She's beautiful. |

being rudy's soror, i am very disappointed in her, and i do not believe that she represented herself well. i am glad she wasn't nude, but who knows in this day and age, i'm sure it's coming. i mean, look how britanni and christina act. rudy may have needed the publicity or something to boost her career. b/c she went to school here in atlanta, i have heard so many rumors about her: being gay, smoking weed, being very promiscuous...you'd hope it wouldn't be true.....my good friend went to copelands (here in atlanta) on sunday nite, and said that rudy was there promoting this magazine spread...i think it is just kind of a no name magazine. she also said rudy was hugged up and holding hands with some woman..... |
Her name is Keisha, not Rudy.. lol.
Maybe she just wanted to do something to disassociate herself from that CHARACTER. The woman is grown, I say let her do whatever she wants as long as she is not hurting anyone and is not being exploited. |

At first I though the question would be about the representation of Black women and I read it as such, which is ironic. When I looked back it said Black sorority women. Why not Black women who attened Spelman? I am sure there are a few Deltas/AKAs/SGRjos/ZPhiB women shaking that a$$ for cash somewhere in the world. Sistahs from Spelman who had to do an thang or two to make ends meet. I just take issue with the whole judgmental. thing. It's not like she has on letters or has a DST tattoo or something like that. Truth be told, not many people outside the BGLO/HBCU world even know this woman is a Delta and probably don't care. She did the right thing by going to college and not just staying in Hollywood. Now the bar is raised and if she wants to get in she might have to take a photo or two. I take issue with the fact that we feel like we have to do these types of things to be and or stay in the industry that wants to typecast and stereotype us anyways not that she actually succumed to the pressure. Finally, the fact that these photos are then "linked" to her perhaps being a lesbian/bisexual is not cool (IMHO). In Atlanta where one out of 50 African American males is HIV positive, hell she gotsta get her rocks off somehow. |

You say you are disappointed in her, yet you posted another one of the pics here. I don't get it. |
Re: Re: Re: Rudy
Deltabrat, I am in complete agreeance with you. I know of some women who've resorted to stripping to pay for school. Its good money, from what I've seen. (NO, I HAVE NOT DONE THAT!! lol) It is not anyone's position to knock what someone else is doing, unless you are footing that person's bill or something.
I wish people could separate the CHARACTER from the PERSON. Rudy didnt graduate from Spelman, Keisha did. Rudy is fiction. SHE AINT REAL, FOLKS!! lol And re: repping a Black Sorority member, I've seen PLENTY of _____ (insert org. here) doing all kinds of vile things, IN LETTERS. Keisha taking some "risque" photos and not showing her letters is not vile, IMO. Now, if she had on some pasties and a feather, with DST sheets, then I'd be a little miffed, and I am a Zeta. Pardon me, Sistagreeks of Delta, if I've overstepped myself. |

Let Rudy Drop it like its hot - back it up - back it up back it up - lol
Seriously, I think the pictures are in good taste. Unfortunately, I can only see her as a child as I watched her as a young girl. Now that she certainly is WOMAN, I find it hard - no pun intended, to see her otherwise. These pictures are like watching my brother's kids. She looks good but again, its like looking at a child. Perhaps young kids will see what I can't in her. |

well, i'm sorry for having an opinion. i believe i was under the impression that gc was a forum for interesting diaologue, and i found it interesting that keisha/rudy would pose for these types of photos. yes, i was shocked and disappointed when i saw and posted the photos on friday just b/c i just didn't think that she would have posed for pics like this and kind of felt bad that she may have needed to do this to boost her career. not that their bad, i was just shocked, that's all. i am disappointed in her b/c she will always be the little girl from the cosby show and i wish she could take some other outlet to build her career. but as i said in my earlier post, i guess you gotta do what you gotta do. also, i know her name is keisha, but the title of the thread was "rudy from the cosby show"...it was only light humor in referring to her with that name.... i, in no way, said that these pics had anything to do with her being a lesbian. actually, i dont give a damn if she is a lesbian or not. i only shared something with my fellow greek chat "friends" that was shared with me...i don't know her from jack, so i dont' know the validity of any rumors i hear....so, kill me for sharing.... ladygreek, i simply posted the other photo because i saw it and wanted to post it. i hadn't gotten any of your emails saying not to propogate these photos... i am very hurt by this outlash for voicing an opinion, but it is cool...you learn human nature throughout life. it's been real! I'M OUT! |
Rudey does not approve of Rudy.
-Rudey --I've been calling every girl a burger since I saw cockroach do it. |
Am I the only one who has a hard time believing that those pictures are REALLY Keisha Knight-Pulliam? They seem so airbrushed...her head almost disproportionate to the size of her body.
That said, if the photos are indeed of her, I am very disappointed. Call me conservative, but that's how I feel. Now, on the other hand, I was not, and am not disppointed in Lisa Bonet's nudity in Angel Heart. She was an actress portraying a role, not posing in a magazine with little to no substance. Also, Lisa Bonet's personality as a public figure wasn't as wholesome as Keisha's -- and I am talking about post adolecsent Keisha. I mean....we can talk about women in "the industry".....but I dunno....I've never seen provocative pictures of Ruby Dee.... |
i commented on this on another greek board, she's so dayum fine. i heard she's VERY proportionate.

RE: the provocative pictures of Ruby Dee, good point. I don't however, think that when Ruby and Ossie started out the same "types" of pressures were present as they are today. We have always been under pressure to conform, etc., but in this day and age, I think it is different. I haven't seen provocative photos of Angela Bassett either and she seems to be working for the approval of the same audiences as Ruby Dee (somewhat), basically, the Black audience...less "mainstream." I have seen provocative photos of Halle Berry. I think when you are trying to get the white folks' approval or a sh%#load of duckets/dollars, anything is possible. Kudos for Ruby Dee for giving them the finger, same for Angela B. Something is going on with the Vivica's, etc. and that's the problem. |
