LOL!!! See, I can't because, um, it's a matter of national security. Yeah, that's it! National security! :p

TOO FUNNY!

Amen sister! And I agree with lady Pi Phi...respect has to be earned!

My favorite bumpersticker: Don't look at me, I didn't vote for the b*stard!

(and yes I did vote)

funny coincidence

When you choose to be a public figure, as our President has, you have to accept that you lose a certain amount of privacy. You also open yourself to criticism.
People in our country have the constitutional right to criticize their government. That's one of the reasons that our country was founded!

OMG... this reminds me of the last Presidential campaigns.
One of my sisters was president of the University Democrats and was (and still is) very politically active.

She was featured in the newspaper carrying a sign that said "The only Bush i like is my own".......

Whether you like the man or not, whether you voted for him or someone else, whatever you think -- if you are a citizen of this democracy, he is YOUR President.

If nothing else, the office he fills temporarily deserves respect.

OUlioness01 12-11-2003 12:32 AM

i respect the office and position of President with all the duties and stress it entails, but by no mean do i intend to extend that respect for the man holding the office unless i can understand and be shown the reasons (legitimate ones) why he has neglected our country and all the problems that we are faced with in order to create more problems in other nations.

i suppose what i'm trying to say is that while i respect his office i absolutely do not respect his decisions.

kappaloo 12-11-2003 12:49 AM

I agree that the position of President needs to be respected, and that the Google thing is unknowingly in bad taste (it's a computer algorithm, it doesn't understand that joke), but we must remember that respecting the office is also allowing an opposition and fair debate. Sometimes respect and agreement get blurred.

(there have been plenty of time I've seen people called 'anti-patriotic' for disagreeing with Bush, which I think is unfortunate)

eta - ( i pushed to post before I was done)

Also... it is not disrespectful to poke a little fun at the President, and Mr. Bush would be wise to not be offended by it. Our Prime Minister has won the respect of people because "he knows when people are poking fun and plays along" (so sayeth my mother).

HAHAHHA I think that's hilarious!!!
have you all tried typing in "weapons of mass destruction"??? That's pretty funny too!!
