Update
Well, My brother is home in the States now and is driving to our house for the holidays with his new family!!!:D :D
ajuhdg--I agree something is COMPLETELY fishy here. It was not a requested leave, but his particular group has given him a REALLY hard time about leaves. They dont want any of there soliders to have leave apparently!! I understand how the leave, and military systems works, having been raised in it... but have never had this much difficulties than witht he Army!! My brother says his units head people are hard core army so maybe that is why he is getting a hard time. ????? All that matters now is that he is home and I finally get to see my 1st newphew!!!!!!!!!!!!:D |

Well, after all this with the military, the "secured" seat on the plane turned out to not be so "secured" after all. Aparently the plane was overbooked and my brother lost his seat on the plane to another person. Actually, I think my brother gave up the seat b/c the person he gave it up for was an elderly lady going to see her first great-grandson...so he had to wait until another seat came up....12hrs later!! He finally got to see his family yesterday and then immediately got in the car to drive another 8hrs to see us...
It was sooooo worth it...My nephew Joshua is soo great and precious!!:D :D :D (in my best proud aunt grin!) Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to you all, and to all the soliders who were not as fortuante as my brother, god bless!! I hope you all come home soon!:D |
I'm so glad you finally got to see him! It's just sad that not everyone can come home too :-( My boyfriend is in Iraq right now with the 82nd and I know how much he'd love to come home for Christmas, if not for good! Tell your brother to keep up the good work though and to cherish all the time he has at home before he has to redeploy! Happy Holidays!
