Zeta Sigma Chi is a social/service multicultural sorority.

Alpha Delta Pi is an NPC social sorority. While our roots are caucasian, there are no exclusions by race, religion, or creed.

sairose 12-01-2003 10:41 AM

Sigma Alpha Iota is a music fraternity for women.

We don't classify ourselves by race because we traditionally have all types! :)

Actually I've seen quite a few SAI chapters that are primarily Caucasian. None of us say "Gamma Phi Beta is a WHITE sorority," but the majority of our international members are Caucasian.

So anyway, Gamma Phi Beta is a social sorority with historically white membership. Omicron Delta Epsilon is a co-ed economics honor fraternity with historically dorky membership.

Well of course...but there are also many chapters that are primarily black, some that have a lot of Asians, and the like. And most chapters have quite a bit of diversity. I meant that, as a whole, you couldn't classify us by race because we're so varied.

Isn't the correct term, "Dorky-Americans?"

No because many chapters historically have dorky-Asians and Dorky-Africans as well. :)

I think more GLOs ought to follow this example.

Also, identify if it is traditionally Multicultural, Black, White, Latino, Asian, etc.

I will start, Zeta Lambda Psi is a Service organization.
It is a traditionally Black Sorority.

Sigma Tau Gamma is a NIC Social Fraternity. Even though the membership is primarly Caucasion, We do have men of every race/creed/nationalities who are a part of the fraternity.

queequek 12-01-2003 01:13 PM

Theta Delta Chi is an North American Interfraternity Converence (NIC) member, meaning a traditional social fraternity. There are 66 national and international fraternities within the INC.

You know what it means, so I'm not even going with any race issue, tho ...

MysticCat 12-01-2003 02:48 PM

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia is a social fraternity for men with a special interest in and love of music.

Although certainly caucasian at the time of our founding in 1898, we have and have long had brothers of all races, creeds, etc. (Historical note: our first chapter at an HBCU was chartered over fifty years ago in 1952 -- Zeta Iota at Howard University.)

Delta Xi Phi Multicultural Sorority, Inc. is a national organization whose purpose is to increase multicultural awareness. There are 11 chapters and my chapter is the 10th chapter to be founded. We are the only national multicultural sorority in the SEC.

Actually....DGP is at Univ. of SC.

Kappa Alpha Theta is traditionally "caucasion" but it really depends on the school. We have members of all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds which I think is awesome (and how things should work). It is an international women's fraternity affiliated with the NPC.

Alpha Phi Omega has already been mentioned....

Alpha Kappa Psi is a coed professional business fraternity, for business majors, but my chapter has allowed other majors to join in the past. Our members are of all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds.

AXORissa 12-01-2003 04:32 PM

Alpha Chi Omega is one of the 26 NPC social sororites (we were founded as a "women's fraternity") Our collegiate chapter had a lot of Chinese and Indian women, but its mostly caucasion, and actually quite Jewish when I was pledging.

Phi Alpha Delta is a law fraternity. While there are chapters on college campuses for pre-law, I believe most of the chapters are in law schools.
