I think it depends on the type of shirt and guy. Because the guy I use to like looked really nice in his button down light pink shirt. I think the shirt should be a preppy button down shirt.

My boyfriend wears pink occassionally. He has a nice DKNY pink shirt that he wears well. :)

Yah. I think that if a man is confident, he can wear any color that he chooses. Like my sistahdiva said, I have seen brothers rock oxfords of all sorts of colors and look fly.

However, if the shirt has any lace or ruffles, I would have to raise an eyebrow.... :D

I have too. Three men in particular I know are constantly rocking the pastels and do so in a way that is not overly gay. They are two men who attended college with my boyfriend, who insists the only reason they can get away with it is because they are darker skinned men, vs. being more pink-ish as he is.

As 1SD said, they are usually rocking an oxford-type shirt, cufflinks, slacks, etc...bow-tie, the whole "look." Not like a pink t-shirt, shorts and some pink socks with some bubble-guns on...ya know.

They also went to Morehouse back when (as he put it) fashion was seriously in and the thug mentality/Roca Wear/Sean John B.S look wasn't "in" yet.

What years was your boyfriend and his friends at Morehouse? Sounds a bit like my era....I have no problem with a man wearing a nice pink shirt. Now pink pants??? naw.......

ETA: This thread made me remember something...When I was in high school I dated a guy that was a "preppy thug" (if you can imagine such a thing!) and he had this pair of plaid pants--They were pink, green and white. He looked soooo cute in them! I think they would still raise some eyebrows in he wore them today however! LOL

I think a confident man can wear pink. My bestfriend has pale pink DKNY and Ralph Lauren button down shirts, and they look fierce with a grey suit... he also has a nice pink tie with grey specks and let me tell you compliments his chocolatey skin :)

but I must say when you look like a big ole piece of bubble yum i.e Camron that gets a resounding NO

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying. A lot of pink on a menzes isn't very manly, IMO.

Sorry, if I see a man wearing pink, I would assume he was a gay-homosexual! **not that there's any thing wrong with that**

But, in high school there was a cute preppie guy who wore pastels. He did look a little "delicate" wearing them, but the colors suited his complexion.

I too thought that men who wore pink were a little * flipping my hand down* until I went to school (Hampton U.) and met some guys from Philly wearing Ralph Lauren button up shirts in all types of pastel colors. Ohh and they were tooooo cute :D

This is too ironic...one day last week at work, there was an older gentleman walking about the office, sharing his AM greetings and whatnot. Out of nowhere, he exclaims "...yes I am wearing a pink shirt, and no I am not gay!"

This was without anyone soliciting that comment or information from him. So automatically, in my mind, that makes him suspect!!

Then again, as aforementioned, it all depends on the individual. :D

Yay Yay all the way!

I love a man in pink. It takes a big man to wear what some think is such a feminine color. Cam'ron has been wearing so much pink lately that everybody is doing it.

I agree, I love a man in pink as well. A guy that I used to talk to in college had a really nice Ralph Lauren shirt. Someone mentioned the whole dark-skinned thing. I think the shirt really complimented his complexion. As you can see I don't mind it at all.

I go with nay. I have seen too many gay guys in pink to separate them from the straight guys. JMO
