I think it would be ok now that we are married, but the last time I was visiting my mom's with my boyfriend (now husband) was in July 1998. And we were in separate rooms (of course this did NOT stop us from getting our groove on! We just had to be on the DL) :p
Yes, I was 31, but Moms was NOT having the sharing a bedroom thang (even though she HAD to know that we had been sleeping together from the get-go!)

I am sure my parents wouldn't care if I slept in the same bed/room with my (currently nonexistent) boyfriend, but *I* would care. I wouldn't live with someone with one address before I marry them, so I would not be shacking at home. Plus it is my parents house, it is just ewwww, I am strange like that. If I was married, perhaps engaged, no problem.

I went home with a boyfriend for Thanksgiving and I slept in his room, and he was in his brother's. I am not sure if it was just his parents making the rule before they knew our situation or if he suggested it, but I was respectful of their arrangements and rules regardless. If I wouldn't do it at my parents' house, I wouldn't do it elsewhere. I was 19, and my then boyfriend was 26, and his younger brother and his girlfriend came as well. Boys in one room girls in the other. The girlfriend got extremely huffy and tried to get us to switch rooms. As if I was going to be disrespectful like that. Stupid cow also didn't ever offer to help out in the kitchen, nor did she bring a hostess gift or write a thank you note. No manner having git.

My last serious boyfriend bought a house and since it had three bedrooms I stayed there a lot, even brought my girly friends for sleepover when he was out of town or just to escape the dorms. It was nice to have a kitchen and laundry plus the hot tub, big screen tv and heated garage as I was living in a closet size dorm room. His brother came home from college for Christmas and he managed to roll his Explorer so we were sharing my car, more convenient for 5:30 am PT if we're all in one place. Once his parents showed up all three of us "kids" slept in the living room on couches and the recliner. After I had surgery his mother and I stayed in the master bedroom.

Mr. SuperSister's mother knows that we have sex and doesn't care so long as it doesn't happen in her house so when we stay there he sleeps in his room and I sleep on a bed downstairs. My parents (at least my mom) honestly believe that I am a virgin and Mr. SuperSister and I have never slept in the same bed (hellooooooo . . . together over 3 years, at college together, but yea, one of us NEVER slept over). My mother doesn't even like him staying in the same house! She had a near fit the time I slept up in my room and he was down on the couch . . . she suggested that maybe he should go over to our church and sleep over there instead of on the couch. Riiiiiight . . .

Ok, y'all just made me feel SO much better...

I've been with my fiance for 3 years now, most of which were in college, and my parents won't even let us be in my room for like 5 minutes without coming in to "offer us food" or some other lame excuse to check in on us. Now he is stationed overseas, and will be home for the holidays, and my parents will still be the same. I guess it's partially my own fault for moving back in at the age of 22, but that degree was expensive and I have to take advantage of free room and board!

I'm just so glad I'm not the only one with super-strict parents!
