Not a good subway story, but today I was on the subway and it stops right at my street, but today it was so crowded and people were holding the doors that the conductor came on the speaker and said since customers held doors, the train's late and he wouldn't be stopping at my street and other streets... was surprised, it's never happened to me before, so I had to walk.

Re: Subway stories
I haven't really had too many interesting experiences on the T (subway)...either that or I'm just too used to it by now.
The red line is usually better than the green line...I'm surprised you had such a problem on there. You're probably lucky you didn't go on the blue or orange line, those two are the worst. I'll have to think about it...but my subway experiences haven't been so bad. Collin |
I am sick and tired of those Jared commercials. It is almost as annoying as the dude you gotta get a dell commercials. I know wrong subway but the title got me thinking. :p

mmmm
*drool* I could go for a 12 " turkey breast from subway...lol

I hate the 'leaning' thing guys do eww gross.
My worst subway story to date is this man who panhandles on the 7 who does not speak and just snaps his fingers at ppl HUGGING me after I smiled and shook my head at him to signal "no i don't have any spare change for you". For that and some other time reasons I avoid the 7 at all costs now. I happen to be a great subway passenger tho. I often give away my pretzles to ppl asking for $. And I'm a sucker for those kids selling $1 M&Ms for thier 'senior trip to the Poconos' or "uniforms for my basketball team" WTF are the M&MS always peanut tho??? |

Man, I wish the T was as clean as the subway. The public transit in Boston is downright calm and civilized compared to the subway.
What gets me is how people solicit in the subway...they all start out the same. "Hello. I hope everyone is having a blessed day..." (fill in whatever sob story there is). I took the subway home from the Village at about 6 AM Sunday, and the majority of cars had at least one homeless person sleeping on it. Sad. :( |

I generally do not board a train that is overly-crowded. I do not like the idea of someone pressed up against me, I don't care who it is. I would rather let a few trains go by until one comes along that is not too crowded. BTW - There are a lot of folks in NYC who go to work b/4 9 am. I catch the 7:32 train (taking my daughter to school) and we can hardly find a seat. |
When my husband and I visited my cousin and his wife in NYC over the summer we encountered a couple funny situations on the subway...
The one that I remember the most was this lady was standing up and wasn't paying attention, when it started moving she bit it BIG TIME. My husband and I tried to reach out and grab her before she hit the floor but we didn't get there in time. |

Well anyway, this guy's arm was hanging straight down, and he had a bag in his hand...and eventually my butt. Not so pleasurable. I couldn't figure out what to do until my friend looked at me and said "bend your knees." After about 3 times of my butt falling out of his hand, he got the picture. And then we ran away. Sometimes I think the green-line is shadier than the orange line. But then again I try to avoid the orange-line as much as possible. I live right by NEMC...and there's a stop RIGHT THERE...but I still take the green line to boylston and walk down tremont. *Sigh* ah, the perils of the T... |

BTW...If you're trying to catch a train past 7:30 the school kids, mostly HS, start getting on the train as well as the adult commuters and that just gums up the works even more! |
To the girl who apparently has a cute, nice grabbable butt. Grr tiger :p

I know how it is to sell stuff to raise money for trips, etc. But damn, don't be skipping school to do it! |
I hate the subway in Toronto. people are so rude. The other day I was pushed by 3 people trying to get off. So I wrote a letter to the free newspaper they pass out on the subway outlining some rules for riding the TTC and it was published. Yay me!
I figured righting a letter was better than drop kicking someone who ticked me off. |
