Man I can't wait to have one of those highly important and over-paid 9 to 5 jobs with a computer at MY desk so I can be like yall and post during all hours of the afternoon :p

Seriously, is everyone like bored during the day?

ThetaPrincess24 10-30-2003 06:48 PM

I get bored, because on Mondays and Wednesday's i have a 4.5 hour break between class so i go to the computer lab and work on things while posting to GC :)

Thursdays and Fridays it's worse because I dont have class, and currently not employed, outside of volunteer work which is in the mornings.

I envy you (not having a job) but I don't. I work everyday except Tuesday and Thursday when I go to class from 8 30 am to 3 pm. That's what I get to do on my days off. I sometimes wish I had more days off, but there are bills to pay and things to save for :(

Bowlby challenged the psychoanlytic theories of attachment by claiming that contact and comfort are just as important (if not more so) than feeding in the development of attachment in an infant and it's mother.

In Harlow’s monkey experiment infant monkeys were raised in a cage with two substitute moms, one made of wire and the other of cloth, showed that contact and comfort were in fact important. In the experiment, the monkeys spent more time clutching to the clothed mom, even though the wire mother had the bottle for feeding.

if you look closely in the picture you can see the wire "mother" next to the cloth one.

Seriously stop with this condescending stuff. The picture was being used as a joke. You didn't need to go all serious and drain the fun out of it.

sorry kids, just trying to educate the masses. poor little baby monkey just wanted some comfort from his mama then some jerk had to turn it into something perverse.

aww, that's it fellas, she's doing it for the monkeys.

Well, thanks very much Ms. Jane Goodall, i'm sure you'd get along well with the other PETA Nazis. I mean, i know that when you become a moderator you must completely become another person and develop multiple identities, but i didn't know you had to check your sense of humor at the door.

sheesh.

Here's another one for you.

kitso - the sarcasm is clearly going over your head. i'm not going to carry this further and say what i really want. as a moderator, unfortunately i have to hold my tongue at times.

Some poor little monkey just wanted comfort from his mama, and some dumb ass scientist had to deprive him of her care. Where is Peter Singer when you need him?
