In the 90's, Sigmagrrl became VERY aware of the beauty and intensity of music and began her journey to amass a great collection of music. Not all artists I liked back then are on here, but the ones worth mentioning are. I've also given a comprehensive listing of where to find some of these artists' best work (well, IMHO)! Plus, going to school in one of the most progressive music towns in the US, I believe I got a great education in music!
Here we go: * Pearl Jam - Fave song: "Release", track 11 on "Ten" * Nirvana - Fave song: "Pennyroyal Tea", track 9 on "In Utero" * Bush - Fave song: "Letting The Cables Sleep", track 11 on "The Science of Things" * Toadies - Fave Song: "Backslider", track 3 on "Rubberneck" * Alanis Morissette: love her whole catalog * Tori Amos: love her whole catalog (my fave artist, in fact) * Sarah McLachlan: love her whole catalog * Stone Temple Pilots - Fave song: "Still Remains", track 5 on "Purple" * Our Lady Peace - Fave song: "Naveed", track 5 on "Naveed" * R.E.M. - Fave song: "Nightswimming", track 11 on "Automatic for the People" * Radiohead: love their whole catalog * Soul Coughing: love their whole catalog * Sponge - Fave Song: "Neenah Menasha", track 4 on "Rotting Pinata" * Bjork: love her whole catalog * Poe - Fave songs: first 6 tracks on her album, "Hello" * Verve Pipe - Fave song: "Reverend Girl", track 4 on "Villians" * Hole - Fave Song: "She Walks on Me", track 9 on "Live Through This" * Frente! - loved their only album, "Marvin The Album" * Tripping Daisy - Fave Songs: "I Got a Girl" and "Piranha", tracks 3 & 4 on "I Am an Elastic Firecracker" * Smashing Pupkins - Fave Song: "Soma", track 7 on "Siamese Dream" * The Sundays: love their entire catalog * Jeff Buckley - Fave song: "Last Goodbye", track 3 on "Grace" * Elliott Smith - Fave song: "Pitseleh", track 5 on "XO" Some other honorable mentions (in no particular order): *Candlebox *Geggy Tah *James (their only song, "Laid") *Dead Can Dance *Weezer *Cranberries *Concrete Blonde *XTC *G.
