At LSU, students with ADD/ADHD can get classified as "disabled" with the office of disability services. Therefore, they get scheduling priority. Which makes no sense at all, but I knew of many people who always got the "good" classes because of their ADD.

At my school, there's a counselor that works with students that have ADD, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities. There are several options that she offers:
(a.) Extra time on tests (b.) Tests given by the teacher speaking the questions and the student gives the answer. (c.) Extra tutoring. Those are just a few. I don't know the others off the top of my head. Colleges usually accomadate those with ADD and ADHD but you usually have to have it documented by a doctor and the counselor has to have the documentation on file. |
