Marist has formal rush in the spring. We have a rush in the fall too but since freshmen aren't allowed to rush in the first semester, the turnout to that is usually small. This year we had 7 rushees. Some years we have even less than that. The sororities that we have are: Alpha Sigma Tau, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Lambda Psi :D (guess which one am I? LOL, we're a local but we follow NPC bylaws), Sigma Gamma Rho, and Sigma Sigma Sigma.

Purdue has deferred recruitment. I wish we didn't, but we do.

This year we are trying something new. We're having Open Houses on November 15-16. Then the girls will do rankings. But the rest of recruitment won't be until January. We're a little nervous that a lot of girls are going to drop over Christmas vacation and decide not to come back.

But on the plus side, IFC and Panhel have had an AWESOME Go Greek campaign this year and numbers are actually up! So we're very excited :)

Yup. Both of my boyfriends brothers are Southwestern boys. One is an alum (and Kappa Sig), the other is a freshman. He may or may not be rushing in January.

I don't think you'll find a definitive list of schools with deferred rush anywhere. My college, Washington and Lee University, has it.

*VERY GENERALLY* larger state schools tend to do it in the fall (often for reasons involving houses). Smaller, liberal arts colleges are more likely to do it in the winter. But that is by no means definitive.

Furman University does. There we have ADPi, DG, KD, Kappa, Chi O, and Tri Delt

Add my college to the list!!

Richard Stockton College of New Jersey

even though we are a small school, and no one has really heard of us, but hey-we still count!!

out school actually has strict rules about rush. we have informal in the fall, but can't take any 1st semster freshman. you need to have 16 credits before you can even fill out an interest form, which kinda sucks.

In Arkansas....

I know Univ. of Central Arkansas does deferred formal, and so does U of AR Monticello.
That's the only two I know of right off the top of my head.....

Washington University in St. Louis has deferred recruitment. I also know that among schools not mentioned yet, Purdue U. does recruitment like Indiana (with a period in the fall and spring). And I'm almost certain Emory U. in Atlanta does deferred as well.

University of Maryland has spring (deferred) rush.

Too many sororities to list and I wouldn't be able to remember them I don't think.

Loyola-New Orleans does spring formal rush. We only have informal recruitment for upperclassmen in the fall.

West Virginia Wesleyan College has deferred rush. We have informal rush in the fall, which is just two round robin nights and we can fill to total. Freshmen aren't allowed to rush in the fall, but they are invited to a sorority Christmas party right before break so they have a chance to talk to their parents about it when they go home. Then in February we have our formal rush.

We have 4 NPC fraternities:
Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Xi Delta
Zeta Tau Alpha

University of Richmond in VA has deferred recruitment. They have informal in the fall, but freshmen can't rush until January.

Mercer has formal in the fall, but if houses are below total in the spring then they can COB up to total through informal. All but one house did this last year.
