WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING TO COME FROM???

If Governor Arnold repeals the car tax fee, as he said he would, where is he going to come up with the funds to balance the budget? Also, if he is so pro-education, as he says he is, is he going to reduce the fee hikes for the UC and CSU school systems?

And remember, he is dealing with a Democratic state House and Senate, and if Californians think that the last budget impasse was bad, just wait until Arnold tries to pass a new budget!

And isn't it ironic that Gray Davis signed into law allowing undocumented residents (I really hate the term "illegal aliens") the ability to get driver's licenses, and most Hispanics voted to recall him! Way to know your voter base Gray!

But of course the Bay Area counties are the only ones in the state to vote against the recall-not only are we not able to put a championship pro football or baseball team on the field, we also vote to keep Gray! I think that it was still the shock of both the A's and Giants losing!!!

For real, do not get rid of car tax. They did this to Virginia and the next govenor had to cut everything else. If you don't like tax, cut the food tax. Everybody needs to eat. Not everybody has three + fancy cars to drive around.

Did anyone else want to slaf the crap out of that woman standing behind Arnold during his victory speech? She had the dark hair and kept waving into the camera? You could only see about 6 peopel when they were close in, and she was one of them. She serioulsy couldnt be a Shriver. They have more class than that. If anyone is used to being on tv its the kennedy/shriver clan.

I just think its so tacky when peeps wave into the camera. Its ususally the same people who stop celebs and ask for autographs. I dont need a sig to prove I have met soemone. My word is good enough. Message to them: I give you a dollar. Go buy some class.

I think it was pretty much known from day one that Arnold would win it. I'm glad this circus is over.

My first response is "that's what they said about Florida."

You can predict a winner with 3% of the vote, however, it's just that - a prediction.

I was deeply involved in politics for quite awhile, and would give you my bona fides if you doubt that. I sincerely believe that one of the biggest electionproblems we face is the exit poll and the broadcast of "who won" before everyone has voted. If I ever get back into politics, it will be to fight for a law to ban exit polls and to somehow restrict the broadcast of national election news (or have a uniform voting time). The East Coast often ends up somewhat disenfranchising the West Coast.

I'm really not out to argue this point now, mostly because it was only a state-wide poll, and not a national one. I did want to clarify my earlier post, however.

I would have to agree with you on this point. In 2000, the network news were predicting winners in the presidential race in Florida before the polls closed in the panhandle of the state. This caused some people ready to go to the polls to decide to stay home thinking the election was over already. As we know, it wasn't. Same thing broadcasting winners of the east coast states hours before the west coast closed up shop.

No seriously, only in America. I haven't really followed Arnold's campaign. I stopped watching after he told one of his opponets "I have a part for you in Terminator 4 HAHAHA".

That line was classic :)

It will be very interesting to see if Arnold can turn around Sacramento's 'politics as usual.' He is a great person to try as he is fresh, and on the issues, leans both ways (favors the gay movement, etc.)

The new Governor may not be able to stop time, but he can begin the process of starving the tax hungry, regulation heavy monster that has been devouring this state and running off business for the past few years. With over 60% of CA voters voting Republican in this election, perhaps the other major party will get the message that Californians have had enough of their partisan games.

Well, that number seems a little low, maybe they're the only 9700 porn starts and strippers that are smart enough to vote. The other 361,000 will be showing up sometime in February, after they come down of their latest coke binge.
