Maybe I should try it your way. :) All the guys I've ever dated somewhat seriously have been independents, which there's nothing really wrong with that, but they get all weird about the "sorority business." They didn't understand why DZ was/is so important to me, and they sort of rolled their eyes when I mentioned it. The ones who were most understanding about it tried, but they still had this preconceived notion about sororities being flaky and shallow. I got the "YOU are in a SORORITY?" thing a lot. Either that, or they just didn't care...if I had a sorority event, it was just like, "Yeah, well, if you've gotta do that stupid stuff, then go do it and call me later." It was just frustrating knowing that they didn't, and never would, understand. :( :p

my SO is non-greek and even though greek stuff isn't his cup of tea, we had a full discussion of it and he said he would support me in my alum involvement. Have you had this kind of discussion with your husband at all?

my fiance doesn't necessarily understand why zeta is so important to me; but he totally supports me in it; he comes to functions with me and understands that there are times when i have to be with my sisters; and whenever i have something to say about the group, whether good or bad, he always listens; he knows a lot of my sisters and he really likes them; if he didn't support me in it, I certainly wouldn't leave my sorority; but the fact that he does makes everything so much easier

My husband doesn't really go out of his way to put ADPi down, he just doesn't get it. He didnt get it while we were in school. Now he thinks that it was just a college thing and that it should be left there. He just doesn 't understand the lifetime bond that a GLO brings.

And he'll REALLY never understand my addiction to GC.

Ah well, what can I do?! I love him...I just know what not to talk about around him! ;)
