Awww, I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope it works out somehow and doesn't put a damper on your wedding! *hugs*

I'm not a fan of my FMIL right now. She's so passive agressive. She was mad that FI was at my house a lot last week so when i called his house on Saturday she didn't answer the phone. When I got him on his cell he said she was home. He asked her about it later and she said "well, you're with her so much, i figured she'd know youweren't here"

She makes fun of FI all the time, especially in front of me. Says he has no taste, no fasion sense, that he's sloppy (none of which are true). She venerates his older brother who dropped out of college and is an ice cream delivery man. I guess she hates that FI is a college graduate and is going somewhere in life.

She bought all the stuff for the nursery for FBIL's baby on the way (from Pottery barn kids), but she's hinting at having our rehearsal dinner at some trashy little restaurant in our hometown.
We're getting married in New Orleans, for goodness sake! There are hundreds of amazing restaurants very near the church! We're figuring she wants to be close to home so she can drink and not have to drive far.

(Keep in mind this is a woman who drives a brand new caddilac CTS (with a personalized plate declaring it her "baby") and incinuates that a Carnival cruise for our honeymoon would be 'trashy' as she only goes Royal Caribbean - so money is NOT an issue).

I know its not terrible in the long run, but I'm tired of her effectively punishing us because we worked our asses off to do well and that makes her uncomfortable becasue she got knocked up at 19 and had to get married.

FFIL is great - too bad FMIL bosses him around! He's a really cool guy
