Just curious, Cashmoney, but why did you start this thread under your nom de guerre? I thought that was only for the thread regarding the mods?

Regarding President Bush's vacation days...I have to laugh when I hear about people making a big deal about his "vacations". Do people think that no one can get in touch with him or something?

"Damn, we're being invaded and President Bush's cell phone is going straight to voice mail!!!"

If Gore had carried his home state, the Florida vote would have been irrelevant. He would have had a majority of the electoral college votes and would have won the Presidency.

while that's all fine and dandy, the bottom line is that the election still came down to florida. no changing that, and the fact that the governor of florida is jeb bush....hmmm. i guess jeb decided to come thru for him.

Ridiculous

Some of you people are just so damn stupid. Honestly, become pool boys and the ladies who clean my office building late at night if that's what some of you think.

To be fair, I'm incredibly angry at Bush but not for these idiot reasons. How about for the fact that the Saudis go unchecked and the Iranians are building nuclear weapons rapidly. How about for the fact that his press conferences are just so he can say he's asking for money for [you name whatever cause] and then that's where it ends? Where's the aid to Africa? What happened to research into alternative fuel sources? How is No Child Left Behind getting funded??

Still waiting for that, though most Africans would prefer that farm subsidies be reduced so they can compete.

Sorry, we can't help you on that. Our subsidies don't compare to Europe's. We did offer you food aid but you rejected it on European nudging because American farm products are genetically modified.

Yeah, the European subsidies are really bad. I have my doubt that WTO will go anywhere because it's election time in many countries. Especially with Spain, French and other farming countries which not only receive subsidies, but then dump the aritificla price on the 3rd world which resulted in many farmes not being able to compete. Plus, most of the subsidies goes to multi-million dollars corporations, and not the small family farmers.

As for the GMO debate, I haven't read enough to make up my mind.

If you think the GMO thing is about science or health, that's pretty funny. It's European protectionism. I think you guys should invade France. The US supports you and we'd probably join in.

The Supreme Court decided the issue (7-2 & 5-4) not Jeb Bush.

I've never liked Bush, but he continues to prove himself to be even less worthy of re-election every time he opens his mouth.

Actually, the bottom line is that Vice President Al Gore couldn't persuade the citizens of his home state to vote for him. Had the citizens of Tennessee voted for him, Florida would have been irrelevant. And no Gov. Jeb Bush didn't 'come thru for him' as you posted. The Supreme Court did, with the help of the voters of Florida.
