I love getting the quarterly, I look forward to it so much. When I got my first one I was so excited and everytime I've gotten them I do a little dance, my mom thinks I'm crazy. :p

finally got my quarterly... no address labels yet though...

greeklawgirl 09-01-2003 10:51 PM

I got my Quarterly last Thursday! It was a good issue! I love our new "direction" and I love that they included the envelope for the Campaign! I am SO EXCITED that we are SO CLOSE to hitting our goal in time for the Centennial! :D

Yes, it was a good issue, but I didn't appreciate the tease. Yes, we know convention is coming...GIVE US SOME NEWS, NOT JUST A PICTURE!!!

I totally agree!!! I wanted more information on the Centennial Convention. Valuable space wasted. Or maybe I am just getting really cranky and impatient. :D

greeklawgirl 09-02-2003 05:19 PM

Actually, I agree with the both of you on that count. I was very disappointed that more information wasn't included on Convention. We are dying for information over here! lol

Maybe the website will have news soon?

I KNOW I'm getting cranky and impatient, but it was still a really mean ploy. :(

DWAlphaGam 09-03-2003 09:18 AM

I thought there would be more details, too.

Anyone know when the website will be back up?

AGDee 09-03-2003 10:47 AM

The collegiate fall mailing includes a page from Melody reminding chapters to budget for Convention BUT.. still no clue how much it might be!

Why must they TEASE us like that?!

AGDZO Susan 09-03-2003 11:56 AM

Probably the reason why no more info was shared was because the plans aren't finalized! Why doesn't someone use the Ask the President to inquire as to when more info on things like budget will be shared?

DWAlphaGam 09-04-2003 10:16 AM

Convention is too expensive...

I mentioned to my sister-daughter last night that Convention will probably be over $1000, not including travel expenses, and she said she doesn't think she can go if that's the case because she will be going full-time for her PhD starting in the fall and she can't spare that kind of money. :( She's really upset because she was really looking forward to going. I'm upset because I don't want to go by myself, but I can't afford to send both of us. :(

Does anyone know if there's any way to lower convention costs by staying in a different hotel, etc., or is it like TLC where the hotel is included and there's nothing you can do about it?

greeklawgirl 09-04-2003 10:47 AM

Donielle, if you purchase the whole Convention package, that should include hotel and two meals per day. If you want to, you can go to another hotel and I'm pretty sure that you can purchase each event that you want to go to separately. For instance, perhaps she can do Chicago sightseeing during the day and just attend the dinner events? That might be a way to cut costs.
