Count me in. I am going to tape it and add it to the library of greek history that I already have.
I have a feeling that this 90 documentary won't be bad - this is the History Channel, not Inside Addition....I think they'll do a decent job. |

The promo copy doesn't sound encouraging, but if anyone will do any kind of sound journalism, it will probably be The History Channel.
I'll be interested to see what Brother Delt Matthew McConaguhey has to say. He's one of the few "stars" who proudly wears his letters. I understand that a large part of his production company consists of Delts as well. We'll see. |
I'm sad :( .
I don't think I'll be able to watch this program. I don't get the History Channel but I get History Television (the Canadian version). I don't think they're showing this program. Instead of "Frat Boys" I can learn about cottages and the great outdoors  |
I got an e-mail back from our H.Q. after I sent the information about this documentary to them. They said that they were informed by the History Channel just the other day of when this would air. They also said that they have been in contact with the History Channel the whole time they were doing the documentary, and provided them a lot of pictures and historical information about Beta and the Greek World. Lastly, and I quote the e-mail, "Hopefully it is a positive piece! I was instructed that it would be" - The History Channel told the Beta H.Q. that it would be a positive piece, lets hope it is.

When I get to Sportscenter, I'll shout out to the Delta Sig boys at the end of every show (Kinda like how Carol Burnett tugged on her ear to say hi to her daughter or something.) |
Supposedly the producers of Frat Boys worked with the NIC, so I 'm hoping it'll be very positive.

http://www.wireimage.com/GalleryList...p=gls====10319 That's why I think (hope) he will say good things. (Morbid comment: I had a good friend I worked with in Denver TV who was going to be a SportsCenter anchor -- young guy, runner, health nut -- who dropped dead in the ESPN Newsroom the night before he was supposed to go on the air the first time. Another friend was on the phone with him when it happened. Maybe you should work for FOX instead) |

I hope it will be positive too; greek organizations are all too often portrayed in a negative light; it would probably have been helpful if the creator/producer/director was a part of a glo in order to have some insight when making the program

Its finally on! Its on now and at midnight

ME TOO ME TOO!!! Yay history majors! |
Different thread started...
Just a thought:
There is another thread called "Frat Boys" (The name of the show) which is pretty much "after the fact" comments. It might be good to do all of the critique's, etc. on that thread since it already has a number of post program comments. Otherwise, these two will become kind of redundant. |
Someone Said The Stars Don't Promote
I'd have to disagree. Stars who were Greek undergrads seem to me to be very cooperative in promoting their organizations. I can think of any number of "big names" who are very willing to hail the letters, starting with President(s) Bush. The History Channel show has conitnual interviews with Kevin Costner and McConnaghay. There are many others who show their pride. I think one of the problems is rumors that so-and-so is a greek but they never were.
