YAY! I'm so excited to hear about a Texas rush--get moved in real well and rest up for Tuesday!
|
Good luck with rush!

Hey girls-
One more day until orientation for rush- get excited! I moved in, and met my roommate- she is totally anti-sorority, anti-footbal, anti-social...its going to be hard. I have some girls I can hang out with...and I'll try to get along with my roommate. I just have a very strong personality, very bubbly, and she doesnt talk at all! Im kinda glad she wont be here until the night of rush...but after telling her i go to church every sunday and I'm rushing, she looked at me in disgust. HELP! |
consider that in a week you could have a whole new crew to hang out with.
have a good time, think positive and the roomate is just a speed bump in the road. |

My thoughts exactly, honeychile!

aww...thanks guys. I hope so too.
I try not to be judgemental..and i hope i didnt come off like that. She just looked at me indisgust and her mom laughed at me. made me feel REAL good. I have morning classes and she has afternoon classes- and if i make sorority, ill be doing that. |
i made a mistake...yikes.
rush runs through the 23rd of August, not the 24th. |
Yay! That means we will know where you find a home one day earlier!!!!
|
I decided when i rush, ill code name the sororites by beaches (i love surfing)..i thought it was creative at least.

Roommate advice: BE PLEASANT AT ALL COSTS!! Roommates are not for a life time. In less than a year, she will be out of your hair (if you don't become friends in the mean time). The best thing to do it always be sweet and cheerful around her. If you allow her to get you down, you'll just have a miserable year. If you keep a smile on your face, you'll at least have a tolerable term.
I couldn't stand my first year roommate, so I made friends with a girl across the hall. Oddly enough, my first year roommate became my apartment-mate during my senior year, and we became great friends! Good luck! Soon you'll have a whole bunch of life-long sisters:D LM |

Last year, my roommate literaly scared me. I thought for sure she was going to end up arrested or die of an overdose within the first week. I kept an open mind about her though and we quickly became really good friends. She is how I met my roomies for this year, although they are really nothing like her, they are a bunch of sweet girls. Just keep an open mind. You should know for sure within the first 2 weeks if you are going to get along or if you are going to want to run and hide. I know my sister has had some really bad ones. EEK!! In that case, just try to be out of the room as much as possible. Good luck!!:) Have fun with rush!! |
if your roomie gets worse, ask to be moved to another room...there are usually enough roomie screwups at the beginning of the year that people are happy to move. It just sounds like she's a big bump on a log though, so do what you would normally do to a bump on a log and ignore it.
|
Your roommate might just be scared or nervous about starting school, too. Some people have different ways of dealing with stress. Just be sweet...she might warm up. And if she's a total nightmare, you can always change rooms.
|
Best of luck... :)
