so is sigma pi gonna be left ou tin the cold then? where they gonna move 2?......hmmmmmm and yea i gotta agree with that fiji from ucsb....axo is way hot, also the greek system at state is way bigger than at ucsb where from what i hear it isnt that strong, probably why the rumor mill is way bigger deal down here. also people are concerned about frats maybe getting kicked off cause its happened so much in the past

yeah, i have no idea....that really sucks for them if they dont have a house.

and i got some privilege info this evening.....it really sucks that the trend of diminishing fraternities at state has to continue. i'm not gonna say what house...it seems that no one really wants to be part of the "gossip." even if it is not intended to be that.

hoosier 08-15-2003 09:20 PM

My visit to SDSU

I visited the house on the end, across from Sigma Pi, about 6:30 p.m., entering thru an unlocked side wooden door.

If the previous night's party mess was still not cleaned up, it shows pretty poor leadership.

I also entered an open door to a house about three door down, which I think was ZBT. Their living room furniture was strewn around, and a huge weight lifting maching (probably broken) was the dominant piece of furniture. I think the powder room door was broken off, and several months accumulation of dirt and mold were in piles everywhere.

Not a pretty sight. Not a responsible chapter.

DeltaSigStan 08-15-2003 10:00 PM

Umm....Sigma Pi is not on Frat row. It's on the corner three streets down. The closest GLO is Theta and ACHIO, not fraternities.

Well, at least I know you're not talking about my house, cause we don't have a side wooden door. I'm assuming you're talking about Kappa Sig then. Well, the house has been clean everytime I've walked by it, so don't let one day define your little ASSumption of us.

Guys, just ignore his troll ass. He never even responded to our argument against him, just lashing at us with this "no responsibility" bullshit. You see how he gets off on reading risk management articles.

hoosier 08-15-2003 11:15 PM

"THis is probably just one of those posts that you make to piss people off and you just sit back and enjoy it. But I'm not gonna let a pissant racist instigator like you ASSume how my chapter is run, especially since you haven't actually made it clear what GLO you're in, and since you love to revel in GLOs having risk management issues."

You really are a credit to DSP. Two of the houses I visited at SDSU suck.

Sorry if my old memory is fading, and am sorry if I got DSP confused with some lame chapter.

Tell me, what is the fraternity in the old house across from the new Fraternity Row?

DeltaSigStan 08-15-2003 11:23 PM

I'm not even going to argue with you anymore. Your little assumption of how a chapter is in overall operations is based on something so insignificant. I bet your chapter sucks....oh wait, you've never had the balls to say what GLO you're in and where.

Go ahead and talk shit. You spent one day here. What great credibility.

I doubt if you can even pronounce the next CA governor's name, or make a post without foul language.

fingerbang 08-15-2003 11:57 PM

wow making a cut at our governor as an insult for delta sig wow thats pretty hurtful....im guessing you u go to OU cause your name is hoosier, also its summer time, things get shitty during the summer, their are a lot of randoms, not many bros around, and things do seem to fall into disaray. but once school starts all the frats will be back to full strength and all the houses clean.

Two of the houses I visited at SDSU suck- because they werent clean? wow what a f***ing stereotype youve made.

Tell me, what is the fraternity in the old house across from the new Fraternity Row?- youre probably thinking of delta upsilon which truthfully is an old dilapidated house, but you cant tell the strength of a chapter by the house they live in, at least you cant at SDSU, so we dont you shut your trap until you actually meet some of the guys in the houses you are talking trash on before you jump to conclusions about how shitty they are. and next time i welcome you to come by our house and talk s*** on us just cause theirs a little trash around......you sound like our freakin housing corporation

aurora_borealis 08-16-2003 12:59 AM

Aside from chapters closing etc...

Why would you just let yourself into a house? Yes the door is unlocked but you were not an invited guest. Even if you are a brother that is just plain rude. Trespassing is not only illegal, it is RUDE.

Maybe there was trash and garbage or furniture all over, but it was the weekend, who knows what went on the night before. In my ideal world every party has clearly labeled bins for recycling and trash and people abide by it. If you weren't there the night before you have no idea if some party crashers trashed it or not. That would be like me basing all people from Indiana being a-holes because of one person from Indiana with no manners.

Huh?

Last I heard, Hoosiers were mostly from Indiana.

O.U. would generally be Ohio University or University of Oklahoma -- neither of which is in a state beginning with an "I". Are you thinking of Sooners?

As for letting yourself into a chapter house, the point is taken unless you are a member of that fraternity or sorority.

Any initiated brother, sister or alum should be welcome. To not welcome them is rude. Aren't they part of your Greek family? Or, do the terms Brother and Sister mean something else?

Most alums would likely KNOCK or RING first as it is a mannerly thing to do. I doubt many alums would go through a side door instead of proudly walking up the front steps and announcing their presence in the usual fashion with the aid of a doorbell or a knock, then be welcomed with open arms.

fingerbang 08-16-2003 01:41 AM

sorry got it mixed up with sooner..............

No DOUBT. Especially for the sorority houses--if someone unknown person wandered into our house, we'd have security on them in no time. You can't be too careful, even with well-meaning alums from back in the day before co-education who just want to see what a sorority house is like.

I can't imagine that someone would let themselves into the houses on my campus--the house mother would call security, there would be big drama...

DeltAlum 08-16-2003 01:08 PM

On the other hand, at a lot of fraternity houses, people can't be bothered to answer the house phone, let alone the door.

Can't tell you how often I've stood on a porch and knocked and rang to no avail. So now, if the door is not locked, I walk in, approach the first person I see, introduce myself and ask if any of the officers are in.

Tom Earp 08-16-2003 03:42 PM

DeltaAlum, agree with you totally! If I go to a LXA Chapter House, I just walk in and try to find someone to introduce my self to!

I have been welcomed as a Brother from all except Ok U who were to busy playing pinpong to say HI!:o

One of the Best Receptions was at U Tenn. Remember tham fondly.

UMKC and William-Jewell Brothers were Great. U Ks. an eeh!:(

But as we all know, each Chapter is different!:)

Shown through the S N New House in William-Jewell and the SX House at Pitt St. Ks. So each Fraternity is also different!

Also hope that a Fraterity may not be out of a House:(

Also from the sound of SDSU Greek Situation it is very tuff. Good to hear it cant be LXA who may be in trouble as not there yet!
