"Diversity Breeds Intelligence" yet they have typos and grammatical errors on their website. Diverse... how? Intelligent... debatable.

Not to mention that the tone alone is not informational, but confrontational. The "To The Haters" page is so immature/childish, I can't believe this group was started by college students.

Pimps and Divas? "Pimpin' Ain't E-Z"? Classy, real classy... and diverse.

What college campus would recognize such a group?

In defense of my university, I honestly believe that the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs would not have approved of such an organization. First of all, you need an advisor to start a new organization and no employee on our campus in their right mind would stand up for this group. A constitution needs to be written and from what I've seen, they probably couldn't write one.

And speaking of Mr. Johnson placing second in the Mr. FSU contest, there were only 4 people running so in reality, he came in third.

I guess I'm hating now!! ;)

Recognized Org's on our yard!!

Sorry to crash on this post, but my lord, isn't it just amazing what some people choose to post on the net? And I agree with Serenity...Intelligent? Heck I just have to laugh...using the word frarority is good enough for me. I did a search on google, and there are other people who use this made up term? What is the world coming to?

I had to doa google search on ther word. Here is one of the many people that use it!

This story had me CTFU!!! Phi Beta Booty?!?

Mac frat open to all
by Jane Yager

What may be Macalester’s first fraternity or sorority in recent memory appeared at Saturday’s Block Party outside Kagin. Representatives of the group, which calls itself Phi Beta Booty, dressed in togas and recruited dozens of potential rushes to their self-proclaimed “frarority.”

So exactly what letter of the Greek alphabet is “booty”?
According to Phi Beta Booty leader The Grand Boot-ha, who chose not to reveal his real name, “booty is an omega with an ass crack.”

Members of Phi Beta Booty claim that while it incorporates certain elements of the fraternity and sorority tradition, it is not a fraternity. It is a coeducational organization that rejects hazing and does not associate with traditional fraternities and sororities.

“Everyone who wants in is in,” The Grand Boot-ha said. During the organization’s upcoming Rush Week, any student who expresses a desire to join the group will be initiated through a ceremonial toasting of the organization. Phi Beta Booty leaders stressed that no alcoholic beverages will be involved in the toast.

Phi Beta Booty is not currently a chartered organization, but they have not ruled out the possibility of seekin an MCSG charter. According to Dean of Students Laurie Hamre, Macalester has no particular injunction against Greek organizations and the decision about whether to charter any particular organization rests with MCSG. PBB leaders, however, said that while they would consider applying for a charter, they would prefer that MCSG join Phi Beta Booty instead. Phi Beta Booty’s leaders hope that every student at Macalester will join Phi Beta Booty and every student organization will establish a close relationship with the group. A close relationship to what end?

“A close relationship for fun,” a Phi Beta Booty leader identifying himself as Z said.
Phi Beta Booty leaders said that they have retained from the fraternity tradition a love of togas, parties and school spirit, particularly athletic spirit.

“We realize that fraternity and sorority life leaves a lot to be desired, but so does social life at Macalester,” the Grand Boot-ha said. PBB’s current members wear their togas to social events and occasionally to Kagin, and plan to begin wearing togas to class as well.

Phi Beta Booty defines ‘party’ broadly. “We are a cultural space,” said Phi Beta Booty leader W. W said that Phi Beta Booty would be happy to sponsor social events of any sort, and has already hosted a “classy party” featuring a string quartet.

The group also hopes to bolster support for Macalester’s sports teams. They have attended men’s basketball games in togas to lend support to the team.
Secrecy is another aspect of the fraternity/sorority tradition that Phi Beta Booty embraces. Leaders refuse to reveal their own real names or the names of the other “core members” of the organization. They estimate the current core membership at between 15 and 40 students, and claim that slightly less than half of these members are female. The goal of the group, W said, is “to make people feel like they’re part of a big family. A very secretive family.”

The Grand Boot-ha, W and Z said that Phi Beta Booty draws inspiration from the intellectual curiosity of the Greeks and Romans. “We hold debates,” The Grand Boot-ha said. The group sustains an ongoing debate about the relative merits of the two jock rock anthems “I Like To Move It” and “Boom Boom Boom.”

Many of the leaders of Phi Beta Booty live in the Hamline neighborhood, in proximity to Hamline fraternities. They are apprehensive about future relations with Hamline frats. “We have never actually met them,” The Grand Boot-ha said. “We hope to meet them, but we also fear that day.”

W explained Phi Beta Booty’s fear of their Hamline neighbors: “Our unofficial slogan, ‘Fuck Hamline,’ may hamper our budding friendship with them.”

“Our rhetoric is vaguely anti-them,” the Grand Boot-ha confirmed.

The Macalester student body has not unequivocably embraced Phi Beta Booty. Phi Beta Booty is aware of rumors of sexual harassment at Phi Beta Booty-sponsored events, but denies responsibility for any such behavior.

“We wouldn’t want any part of it,” the Grand Boot-ha said. “We’ve discussed these rumors and we believe that to a large degree they’re unfounded.”

Phi Beta Booty members also warned that Macalester students shouldn’t take them too seriously.

“We’re trying to present an organized front to make people think there’s something exciting going on,” W said. “People see this big long list [of members] and think there’s something exciting happening. It’s very postmodern that way.”

In addition to their Rush Week activities, the group plans to hold an ice cream social and a bake sale in the near future.
“Don’t fear us,” W said. “Don’t fear us, don’t fear us, don’t fear us.”

1) The org was founded in 2002, but the first 'line' went over in 2000.

2) Two of the "founders" went over in 2000 and the third went over on a different line, 2 years later. WTF?

3) Sean Paul is an honorary member?

They really need to hang it up. For real.

YOU should be place in TIME OUT for this! :o You ain't right! you ain't right! :D Let them people have their place... lol :o

I am obviously a horrible masochist and like torturing myself.

I clicked over to their BP link. One of the "divas/hoes/UGs" has a page there. Why did she put down her bra size? WHY? TACKY!

Whoever made the comment about his photos being from the state pen, I so feel you on the "prison poses". Maybe he was a contestant in a pageant there? The low class put a description of something that one could easily describe in the Naughty By Nature song OPP. He also took a quiz and if he was a Disney character he'd be Minnie, or a Carebear he'd be Love-A-Lot.

I was going to stay on my diet but forget it, I need something good to eat after all this.

I was sondering if someone else caught that too. I found that quite strange. Question is, are they really legit?
