If you don't want small chapters then why do you start them in the first place? |
While I do not agree that all campi should have Greeks, there are some that should have them. Large or small schools can support Greeks. Starting small is a step in the direction that we all wish to proceede with!
You plant a seed, hoping it will grow to be in full bloom! Sometimes they fall on rocky soil where nothing will grow, hence, they wither and die! It is just picking the proper ground! I do know, that LXA and TKE are trying to do a two fold attack: 1. Re-Colonize 2. Go to new Schools! But of course, it depends on the school! North East Schools are not normally small, but it depends on the size of the Schools and what the Thoughts and backing of Greek Orgs are. Normally in the Mid West, The St U are large, the State U/Colleges are smaller. and the privates are smaller yet! Of course, I a can only speak of Ks. Mo, Neb. and Ok! |
madmax's point:
Madmax, you make a good point. Some of us are less than thrilled to enter some of these what I'd call 'rinky-dink' schools.
But then we have only one vote. No, I am no enamoured of the marginal ones, but one does not always know who they are. Little Fenn College, a glorified night school in Cleveland is now Cleveland State U, our chapter a top one, over a thousand initiates. But I can tell you of a couple which closed, or who had a poor track record...we gambled and we lost. Don't all of us have some of those? of course we do. But, Max, nothing at all wrong with your retort, nothing at all. Guess we'll work at it 'til we get it right.... |
