I still think it's an urban legend.
Since our new members are called "pearls", I can't see myself ever being able to use Tampax Pearl with a straight face anyway.

If the no-name brands are good, I'll try 'em. But OB reigns supreme (for now). |
kudos to you on being able to use a no applicator tampon, I'm afraid of them. I'm a playtex girl myself, and Tampex is leak central!!!
OB also has applicators now.
OB Tampons are called "Carefree" in Australia (which I think was their "old name" way back in the day, in North America).
I have no problem with Tampax on light days or even regualr...but on heavy days it's Kotex for me :)
OB is the best in my opinion. I've never had a leakage problem with it.

AlphaGamDiva - despite your, uh, "graphic" description, I am compelled to respond. It sounds like your friend was using a too high absorbancy. This problem can be solved with a lubricating jelly like KY during insertion and this will help during removal as well (stop laughing people, I'm serious).

And back on the subject, TAMPAX sucks. I am a big Kotex fan but for my next period I will be test driving OBs without applicators, based on reccomendations from some lovely GCers 471 times I wished I was a boy when I had my period |
