I hope it's not the same friend who was investigated in the Snopes article........definite credibility issues w/ that individual.

WTF? That's a lil rude don't you think?

I still think it's an urban legend.

Since our new members are called "pearls", I can't see myself ever being able to use Tampax Pearl with a straight face anyway.

I like OB for the width-wise expansion. TAMPAX is leak-central.
If the no-name brands are good, I'll try 'em. But OB reigns supreme (for now).

trisigmaAtl 07-25-2003 12:43 PM

kudos to you on being able to use a no applicator tampon, I'm afraid of them. I'm a playtex girl myself, and Tampex is leak central!!!

fuzzie 07-25-2003 01:17 PM

OB also has applicators now.

CutiePie2000 07-25-2003 01:43 PM

OB Tampons are called "Carefree" in Australia (which I think was their "old name" way back in the day, in North America).

Buttonz 07-25-2003 02:17 PM

I have no problem with Tampax on light days or even regualr...but on heavy days it's Kotex for me :)

ZTAngel 07-25-2003 02:28 PM

OB is the best in my opinion. I've never had a leakage problem with it.

Yep! I agree with you, and everyone else who said the same thing. Also, I like how the little ones without applicators fit in your pocket.

i dunno about all that b/c my old roomie bought some no-name-brand tampons once and they tore her isht up. she said they were fine goin in, but taking them out felt like she was being cut and stuff and just had all kinds of issues with them. so watch out.

i'll always pay a lil more for stuff like that.....whoa.

AlphaGamDiva - despite your, uh, "graphic" description, I am compelled to respond. It sounds like your friend was using a too high absorbancy. This problem can be solved with a lubricating jelly like KY during insertion and this will help during removal as well (stop laughing people, I'm serious).

Now why did you have to go there? :( That song drives me batty!

And back on the subject, TAMPAX sucks. I am a big Kotex fan but for my next period I will be test driving OBs without applicators, based on reccomendations from some lovely GCers
