I personally am planning on wearing a nice spring dress with some color and a cute little sliver neacklace and a maching bracelet...for now anyway unless I change my mind lol. but I wouldnt want to wear a black dress only b/c I know thats what most of the actives wear and i dont wanna look like just another gal in the crowd. but thats just me might I add. I wish clothing wasnt such an important acpect of going through recruitment. but it is!

The only role clothes really play at my university is to make a girl stand out. This can certainly be in a good or bad way. It's not used to judge a girl, other than, is what she is wearing fitting of the occation. Like I said, it's mainly for remembering girls...I can't count how many times during membership selection one of the sisters says, "Oh, was she the one in the blue dress?!" - it just makes you easier to remember.

I think your suggestion to have her bring both dresses might be a good one, though, just in case she realizes she'd feel more comfortable in the pink. |
I like that dress. The ruby necklace sounds nice and more original than a pearl necklace.

This thread made me think about a girl that came through my first rush on the other side:
She was an AGD Legacy, which we normally don't get many of- and so we were so excited, and she showed up second rounds in a strapless ZEBRA PRINT dress, hugging her everywhere (and she was busty and full figrued).... it looked awful- plus she so much makeup on she looked like she should be on a street corner.... we didn't want to invite her back to prefs, but her looking like a streetwalker wasn't going to be reason enough to cut her and contact her mom and tell her (her mom was an AGD alum from another chapter). Can you imagine, "Sorry Mrs. AGD we have decided not to invite your daughter back to preference... oh, uhm, why? Because she looks like a streetwalker!" Thankfully she declined her return invite She muist have gotten the hint when one of our sisters couldn't resist and said "And where does one find a strapless zebra print in your size" Keep in mind, this sister is a size 16- and she was appalled this girl would wear such a thing! We all wanted to burst out laughing at the comment. Anyway, she pledged another group- thank god! I guess she was happy, but everytime we saw her we were thanking god not to get that legacy! |
BluGBI -
I think I have that dress! If it's the same one, it is, quite possibly, the most comfortable dress in the world! Always a plus when rushing! I think it's fine. Especially with the ruby necklace! And if you could get some sort of bracelet or dark red shoes I think you'd stand out just fine! Good luck! |
