Transfer can go either way, my chapter had 3 or 4 transfers when I was active they all worked out fine, but my wife's chapter did not take one transfer into active membership. I also knew a Sig Ep who transferred to UT-Austin from a small private school chapter. He was rejected for membership by the UT Sig Ep's and he ended up resigning from the National Fraternity over the matter.
I just got out my 150 year history of DU and the author states that some DU Chapters in the Northeast, notably Harvard, regularly rejected any attempted transfers as a matter of policy.

When my chapter was a colony (last year) we had a girl transfer from UCONN to the University of Hartford because her best friend went here. Then is happens her best friend also got a bid the same time she joined the colony (she couldn't affilate cause we were not yet a chapter) she ended up loving the colony and being much happier in it then in her old chapter.

I am glad to hear all the positive information! Luckily, I have been here 2 weeks and am having a blast...the girls are super sweet so it's going well. I do miss my other girls like mad though (of course).

One of my sisters transferred from another school to mine and she was very active.

I may also be at OU or UT soon
