CSU Dominguez Hills greek system is pretty small. Greek life is accepted here, especially since a lot of our administrators and faculty are members of greek organizations. We do not have greek housing though.
The Orgs on Campus: (info. found on ASI website) Delta Sigma Theta Iota Phi Theta Lambda Theta Phi Phi Iota Alpha Phi Sigma Sigma->wooo whooo! Sigma Iota Alpha Sigma Lambda Beta Sigma Lambda Gamma Sigma Pi Zeta Phi Beta (we also have students that are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, Omega Psi Phi, and Phi Beta Sigma, but I do not know if they have actual chapters at our school or not.) If you would like to know anymore information about CSUDH greek life, or just CSUDH in general, lemme know! ;) Hope that helps! ~Beth |
This is great feedback! Keep it coming!
At the Cal Poly schools-- when you say the Greeks are not regarded in a positive light, why is that? Is the admin not supportive of the Greek system? Has anyone got anything on Greek Life at: Fresno, CSU-LA, Humboldt, San Jose State, Sonoma State, Pepperdine, Santa Clara, UC-Davis, U Of Pacific? Thanks again! |

I'm an Alumna from Humboldt State and believe me when I say the Greek system there is SMALL! This is the breakdown: SORORITIES: 1 NPC: Delta Phi Epsilon 2 Locals: Rho Chi Upsilon and Phi Delta Psi 1 LGLO/MCGLO: Gamma Alpha Omega FRATERNITIES: 2 IFC: Chi Phi and Tau Kappa Epsilon SORORITIES: DPhiE has the most active members, but GAO is the most active on/off campus FRATERNITIES: TKE's have the most active members, but Chi Phi is the most active on/off campus. As for UOP, I don't know much about Greek life there other than they've just established the first LGLO's... Fraternity: Omega Delta Phi Sorority: Gamma Alpha Omega Petitioning Group I hope this helps :D |

In essence this is what we have NPC Phi Sigma Sigma NIC Sigma Pi Lambda Theta Phi - historically latino Sigma Lambda Beta - historically latino Phi Iota Alpha - historically latino NALFO Sororities Sigma Lambda Gamma Kappa Delta Chi Sigma Iota Alpha Divine Nine Sigma Gamma Rho Zeta Phi Beta Delta Sigma Theta Phi Beta Sigma Iota Phi Theta I think is colonizing or just colonized on campus I think the other NPHC groups may have city wide chapters that have some of our students as members Kappa Alpha Psi The City of Carson doesn't allow houses so we don't have any type of greek housing. CSUDH is trying to get a Greek Council started but it's tough The administration is very open to the Greeks though as we do a lot of volunteer work on the campus. Most of the chapters are fairly small less then 20 and some maybe less then 10. We're one of the largest if not the largest at almost 30. Hope this helps, Carolyn |

To fill you in on a few more:
CSU Fresno: The university website is arranged kinda funny. I wasn't going to take the time to arrange each of the groups by NPC, NIC, NPHC, MCGLO etc. :) The website seems alittle out of date: http://studentaffairs.csufresno.edu/...interest1.html ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA ALPHA PHI ALPHA ALPHA XI DELTA CHI DELTA BETA CHI RHO OMICRON DELTA GAMMA DELTA SIGMA PHI DELTA SIGMA THETA DELTA UPSILON DELTA ZETA EPSILON SIGMA RHO GAMMA ZETA ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA PSI KAPPA ALPHA THETA KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA KAPPA SIGMA LAMBDA CHI ALPHA LAMBDA SIGMA GAMMA LAMBDA THETA NU NU ALPHA KAPPA OMEGA PSI PHI PHI GAMMA DELTA PHI LAMBDA RHO PHI MU PI KAPPA ALPHA SIGMA ALPHA EPSILON SIGMA ALPHA ZETA SIGMA CHI SIGMA DELTA ALPHA SIGMA NU SIGMA OMEGA PHI SIGMA PHI EPSILON THETA CHI ZETA PHI BETA CSU Long Beach: Greek Life has a *really* cool website at: http://www.csulb.edu/divisions/stude...eek/index.html NPC: Alpha Omicron Pi Alpha Phi Delta Delta Delta Delta Gamma Delta Zeta Gamma Phi Beta Sigma Kappa Sigma Lambda Gamma ** ** When I went to CSULB, there were only 7 groups. I have *no* idea what "Sigma Lambda Gamma" is about. It's not an NPC group, yet they're listed under NPC. Maybe it's an interest group? IFC: Delta Chi Kappa Sigma Phi Kappa Tau Sigma Alpha Epsilon Sigma Phi Epsilon Sigma Pi Tau Kappa Epsilon Theta Chi NPHC: Sororities: Alpha Kappa Alpha Delta Sigma Theta Sigma Gamma Rho Zeta Phi Beta Fraternities: Alpha Phi Alpha Iota Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Psi Omega Psi Phi Phi Beta Sigma MCGLO: Chi Delta Theta Delta Lambda Phi Delta Sigma Chi Kappa Psi Epsilon Lambda Theta Alpha Lambda Theta Phi Sigma Phi Omega Sigma Lambda Beta Zeta Epsilon Tau Zeta Phi Rho CSU San Marcos: A new-ish university. Only has a few GLOs. http://www.csusm.edu/srl/fslife/greek%20life.htm NPC: Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Xi Delta IFC: Sigma Alpha Epsilon Tau Kappa Epsilon |

NPC: Alpha Chi Omega Delta Gamma Gamma Phi Beta Kappa Kappa Gamma Pi Beta Phi Sigma Kappa All chapters hit or come extremely close to total of 70 (soon raised to 80) in Fall, and quota has raised in the past 4 years from about 16 to 25ish. NIC: Alpha Tau Omega (55-58) Delta Tau Delta (65-70) Kappa Alpha Order (70-75) Lambda Chi Alpha (25-35) Phi Delta Theta (5-10) Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) (35-45) Phi Kappa Sigma (35-40) Pi Kappa Alpha (35-40) Approximate numbers for each fraternity are in parentheses; things change fast though when recruitment comes around. Interest groups/chapters to most likely join in Fall: Tau Kappa Epsilon (was not invited to colonize in the Fall as of the beginning of July) Phi Kappa Psi (invited to colonize in the fall as of July) Sigma Phi Epsilon Alpha Epsilon Pi (all ready established-not sure if recognized nationally) NPHC groups: Sigma Gamma Rho Omega Psi Phi Alpha Kappa Alpha (coming back after 2-3 absent years) Kappa Alpha Psi (coming back after 1-2 absent years) There are a large number of Latino/Chicano and Asian-American chapters as well, which I can list if you want. We had a Panhellenic/IFC website created a while ago, but it's really outdated now. The link is http://www.greekbrothersandsisters.org , but you won't get much more info other than what I've said. For the record, UCR administration is anti-greek for the most part, but some of that attitude has been changing since the inauguration of the new Chancellor. We'll see where things go. But for those of you at UCR, don't count on Greek housing for another 25 years at least (sad, but true). |
