University of Chicago:

•The University of Chicago Hospitals’ helicopter appears each week—don’t blink or you’ll miss it—during the opening sequence of the popular television drama ER. Sometimes, the maroon-and-white helicopter is even part of the plot!

•Harrison Ford ran through the Hospitals’ corridors in scenes from the 1993 thriller The Fugitive, based on the Sam Shepherd murder case and filmed in Chicago.

•In one of his most famous roles—as Indiana Jones in 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark—Ford, says the film’s script, studied at Chicago under Professor Abner Ravenwood (perhaps modeled after the Oriental Institute’s James Henry Breasted). I think a lot of the U of C scenes were actually filmed at Duke which is pretty funny.

•The Gleacher Center played itself for a few brief seconds of fame when John Travolta’s wayward angel visited Chicago in 1996’s Michael.

•Hull Gate “starred” when Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan drove through it to begin their romance in When Harry Met Sally (1989).

•Chicago lent its campus—and Professor Nicholas Rudall—to the 1996 Keanu Reeves/Morgan Freeman flick Chain Reaction, directed by Andy Davis. Chain Reaction starred Reeves as Eddie Kasalivich, a U of C machinist who stumbles onto an international plot to foil a scientist’s plan to give the world clean, limitless energy. Filmed partly in Mandel Hall and on the quads, it included several hundred student extras—few of whom were visible in the final cut.

•U of C merchandise gets its screen time, too. Kimmy, the bride played by Cameron Diaz in 1997’s My Best Friend’s Wedding, was a student in the College, which she proved by wearing a Chicago sweatshirt. (U of C alums know the secret reason why Kimmy couldn’t hold a tune in a nightclub scene—there’s no karaoke at Jimmy’s.) Chicago paraphernalia was seen briefly on the TV dramas Northern Exposure (Janine Turner’s Maggie O’Connell character was an alum), Sisters (Frankie was a U of C MBA), and Early Edition. What, no comedies?

"Warning: Parental Advisory" had some scenes filmed at the University of Houston and several other Houston locations.

This isn't at my university, but my highschool, Humberside Collegiate was used in an episode of Kung Fu: The Ledgend Continues (tv series), and the highschool down the street from Humberside, Western Technical and Commercial School was used in the Film Billy Madison.

To my knowledge, UH-Manoa has never been in a full-length movie, but a few scenes of the Real World Hawaii included my campus. In fact, a bunch of scenes had our Alpha Gamma Delta letters in the background at the Campus Center. Ruthie and Teck were having a discussion and they got a really nice close up shot of AGD.

Was it on your campus that they got in trouble for riding those little scooters through the campus? ;)

Univ of So Cal has been in soooo many films--

Legally Blonde--all the Harvard shots are USC
The Graduate-- Berkeley shots are USC

So many more, don't have time to research it, maybe some other Trojan can... :)

Lost & Delerious was filmed at my school, Bishop's University.

it wasn't exactly the best movie I've ever seen (ok, I thought it just plain sucked), but it was really cool to recognize everything!!

Got you ALL beat

UCSD Geisel Library is the mother ship in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes starring George Clooney!

It can also be seen in the opening scenes of "Simon & Simon". Short lived tv series "Push" was shot on campus. I'm not sure if there's anything else.

Does anyone know where "10 Things I Hate About You" was shot? I love those buildings.

Man I guess Missouri just isn't that exciting! I can't think of anything that has been filmed on our campus, but we still have a gorgeous campus nonetheless. ;)

Yep, the school scenes were filmed at Stadium High School. The school is up high on a bluff overlooking Commencement Bay and is beautiful! It was originally intended to be a luxury hotel built by a railroad company. The scenes of their house in the movie were filmed on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle.

You can take a virtual tour on the school's Web site under "Campus Guide."

I swear, there is ALWAYS something being filmed at USC! I guess it pays to live in LA.

I've seen Legally Blonde 2, a TRUTH smoking commercial, a NESTLE commercial with Shaq, Roswell, The Education of Max Bickford, a Nancy Drew TV movie and a few more things being filmed in the two years I've been there.

The movie Pumpkin was at USC (and part at my sorority house), Orange County, Road Trip, Kiss The Girls, A League Of Their Own, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Forrest Gump, For Love of the Game, Dead Man on Campus, Copycat, Boys and Girls and probably a bunch more that IMDB didn't list.

As for TV shows, Roswell, Felicity and Saved By The Bell: College Years come to mind.

Basically, anytime you see a "college" campus on film or TV, there's a good chance it was filmed at SC.
