What IS the difference between a flick a movie and a film?

flick= extremely commercial, hyped up, long-awaited, manufactured-to-be-a-big-hit-but-in-all-actuality-is-really-crappy, usually popular with 12-16 year olds that can't get into rated-R movies yet, may have a happy meal or action figure supplement...

movie= sometimes a surprise hit sometimes intentional but that is very rare, actually has good content/storyline/acting, most of the time is not originally intended to have a grand following but because of quality in content/storyline/acting ends up winning the oscar

film= can be low or high budget, not usually well known but will most likely have a huge cult following, love-it-or-leave-it, usually can't walk down the street and watch it at the multiplex- you'll have to go to a smaller and more intimate setting...or rent it, will usually have good content/storyline/acting but this depends on the director and the budget...

Yawwn. And I'm an NBA fan. I'm more interested in the Lakers trying to find a good free agent or two and hoping that the Diesel gets back into shape. I'm sick of hearing about T.D.

i totally agree with you. i feel very much the same way. people start topic for a reason. if you want to change the subject, start another thread. or hello??? start a 'random part 2' thread. but people do need to respect the thread starter. i hate when someone asks a question, and there are 3 pages of nonsense before it gets answered.

yeah - they need to actually use their collective brain this season, once the Logo bailed they've been left with crap like signing Devean George (!!!) to a rich extention . . . hopefully it won't be another summer of "Entire vet exemption goes to . . . MITCH RICHMOND!"

Thank you. Hopefully P.J. Brown or some banger like that will take a pay hit in order to have a chance to win. The Lakers need a big body to take pressure of Diesel, but I also say that Diesel needs to get in shape. There's no way he should weigh close to 400 l-b-s with 20% body fat.:eek:

20% body fat...holy kamolies, that's ridiculous...not just for any professional athelete, but especially pertaining to a sport that's one of the most physically demanding. Big D, lay off the Big Macs.

I didn't realize he'd gotten that much out of shape - that's ridiculous, especially when the Lakers need him so bad.
I think they'll have a good chance at Brown, although it'll be interesting to see who the Spurs go after. They could go after a big name, or take a lower priced guy (like Brown) and wait till next year.
