Yeah but even if puberty does change everyone's apperance, they will still all be known as the Harry Potter Kids, which can either help or hinder their chances of making significantly different movies. But then again, the kids probably have enough cash in the bank (as well as some gifted lawyers) that they don't have to make anymore movies after HP is thru. {{shrugs}}

ETA: Twas reading imdb boards again. In a thread about directors, I discovered that Spielburg was offered to direct the first movie. He either decline or was rejected because he was rumored to want to Americanize the series... by casting Haley Joel Osmond as Harry.

BWAH!!! What the hayell? Yeah... "I see half dead wizards." :p  LOL!

I heard that he is the second richest kid in england now. I don't remember if he as 24 million pounds or 6 million pounds.

Pounds = 4 american dollars i think.

Beta, you've got me stumped. Is it within the context of the story itself? The only thing I can think of would be "Author Unknown", but that would only make sense at the end. If it's in the stories itself, can you give us a sentence for context?
That's what I originally thought too, but I've seen it mostly on stories that the author is listed on. It 's in the story descriptions, and wil say things like "This story takes place during their 5th year at Hogwarts and is AU." It's all very strange....

HAHAHAHA...I hadn't heard about Spielberg directing but I had heard that Haley wanted to play Harry.

I was like...yeah right

Which gets me thinking... isn't Haley a lot older than Daniel? Maybe a couple of years?

And to further my point that older actors can play younger parts: Saw Spider-Man 1 for the first time yesterday. I KNOW Kirsten Dunst and Tobey McGuire weren't 17 at the time of filming but they played high school seniors pretty well. Say OotP does come out in late 2007. Daniel et. al. will all be about 17-18 and they will play 15 year olds. It's not THAT far off.

I don't think he's that much older than Daniel. imdb.com would have his date of birth. I know Daniel was born in 1989.

Your second point. I totally agree. They have much odler actors playing young teenages all the time. 90210, for example.

Per IMDb: Haley Joel Osment -- April 10, 1988.

Thanks. I was just too lazy to search myself.;)

But he's only a year younger than Daniel.

Yeah I kinda realized that after I posted. Haley was pretty young in Sixth Sense. 9 or 10 I assume. But that only came out in '99. First HP movie came out in 2001. So he would have been a little older, but not much.

AU stands for "Alternate Universe". In AU fics, things happen that are clearly contrary to what we already know of Harry Potter canon (ie, the official books). An example of an AU fic would be a fic where Hermione was put in the Chamber instead of Ginny, and Ron's mom was Bellatrix Black. Things like that.

Movie contracts: The three main actors are signed on for Goblet of Fire. NO ONE, not even a director, is signed on for Order of the Phoenix. While I'm positive they'll make it, there has been no real confirmation that they'll make it. They have to renegotiate contracts if they want to keep the same actors. There has been much speculation on this issue, both positive (that they'll keep the actors) and negative (that they'll dump them). Personally, I think they'd be crazy to get new actors, but you can't force anyone to sign a contract. So there ya go.

I'm so glad that you posted this, I was getting ready to post it myself.

I have a question for you...what are you favorite author's and fanfiction?

Mine are, what I think are the usual suspects: AngieJ, Cassandra Claire, Rhysenn and Lori.

I've found some new author's that I think are pretty good so far: I'm currently reading JL Matthew's Sytherin Rising series and I like it very much, I have on the back burner: Gramarye - Legacy of Light and Reiko Naoe - Serpent's Bride.

I'm kinda wary of new authors, I'm very monogamous. I would love to hear your thoughts on fanfiction.

Where do you find this fan fiction?

MUHAHAHAHA

That sounds kinda sinister doesn't it?

I just love fanfiction and I like it when others get interested in it also.

Schnoogle.com - Novel Length Fiction
FictionAlley.org - The main page

As above - Schnoogle is Novel Length Fiction that features all of the below, but in novel length
The Dark Arts - Angst, Dark Fic
AstronomyTower - Romance Fic
Riddikulus - Humor Fic
ArtisticAlley - Fan Art

Some recommedations for the person who is getting into HP Fic

Cassandra Clarie - Draco series...its AU but really good the first one...Draco Dormiens (you can tell its her first fic, but believe me the writing gets MUCH better), Draco Sinister (finished) and Draco Veritas (in progress)

AngieJ/Ebony - Trouble in Paradise, wonderful story...in fact maybe my favorite all time. Brief synopsis: An adult H/H shipper's attempt to understand the other side. R/H marriage on the rocks, Angelina Johnson-Weasley narrates. Sequel - Paradise Lost (in progress)

Lori - The Paradigm of Uncertainty (complete), The Show That Never Ends (complete, sequel to PoU) and Hero With A Thousand Faces (in progress, third installment).

Rhysenn - Irresistable Poison, very AU, only if you like this sort of thing.

JL Matthews - Slyterin Rising Series, 1, 2 & 3 are complete and 4 is in progress, very good, its told from the POV of 4 Slyterin girls (that are not "typical" Sylterins that we've seen. Its very good and it follows the novels.

These are all found on Schnoogle, there are some very good fic all over the site.

If you want some recommendation (not from me) go to
FictionAlleyPark they have a recommendation threads.

I think the chick who wrote those books is kind of hot.

TigerLilly 06-12-2004 04:20 AM

Ooh! I really like the "Slytherin Rising" series of fanfic -- it's good stuff!
