So true
My friend is getting married
The dresses are $250 plus shipping
But they are different because they came from new york
You'd think that since you aren't the matron
or maid of honor that you don't have to pay for anything. WRONG!
She's in another sorority(only 2 of her sisters are in her wedding)
So, her matron of honor is throwing the family wedding shower
Her maid of honor is throwing the bachelorette party
(in another more expensive city)
Her 2 bridesmaid are throwing her sorority shower
Guess which person got stuck with the work wedding shower?

The person who works with her. . .me
And this one is a surprise
The good thing is it's potluck dinner
But the cake has to feed 60 people

I used to work for a bridal shop and just a few pointers:

-When you order your dresses, make sure you order them all at the same time!!! Otherwise the dye lots will be different and there could be slight discrepencies in the color.

-Don't forget that it's eaiser to take a dress in than let it out. If you're worried about that, the nicer designers will have more fabric on their seams to allow for better altering. You can check on any sample dress, just look on the inside at the seam and check how much extra fabric they leave after the stitch line.

-Along with every toiletry you can imagine, bring a needle and thread (matching the dress of course), you never know when something will snag. Also, clear nail polish and/or extra hose.

What Cream says is very true. One of my friends was the Maid of Honor and she definitely shelled out over $1000 when all was said and done.

This year is my second time being Maid of honor and this time is much more expensive that the first. My first time, the dress was bought JCPenny's, a floral pattern. It as very low key, as the family and none of us had much money. This time, the bride's family is much more well off, so the standards are much higher. The dress + shoes was about $200+, but luckily I didn't ave to pay for it. If I did, I would have had to step out of her wedding. I am throwing the bridal shower and Bachelorette party in two weeks, on the same day and I have no idea where I'm going to get money to do that! It's kind of hard when your a full time student and haven't worked in 6 weeks...Maybe next time I'll give it a little more thought before I say yes....

No. It's a small private place, not David's Bridal.
The Bride is going tonight to see what is going on so I will update the dress situation later.
